At the moment I"m doing the things I know how to do, I'll have to take it somewhere to get most of those done. I'll have to replace the steering head bearing soon as it felt a little "clicky" at full steering lock when it was on a paddock stand so I'll get those things all done at the same time (swingarm, shocks and forks). I'm thinking I'll just have them do a full bearing RnR on the swingarm linkage and both wheels and the steering head. but for now it'll be ridable before that gets done.
The gas in the tank is "fresh" I mixed it up to take it for a test drive as it was "dry" when I went to look at it, so it just needs to be filled.
I'll change out all the "fluids and filters" before I ride it cause I don't know how old that stuff is or when last they were changed.

Good idea on the reeds, I didn't think of that. I'll anti-seize the chain adjuster bolts while I have the wheels off today.

Anyone seen this guy?

So I ride into down town Phoenix from Chandler for work and every once in a while I see this other inmate on a KLR 650 2nd gen black riding west on the 202 before going north up the 51. He's got a big ol' ADV rider sticker on the front left panel too. I'll tell you what though, being a KLR rider myself, his KLR is way to clean!

Anyways, anyone know who he is?

Thanks to everyone that came, and to those who brought stuff with them. If you guys ever need a place for something, just let me know. As long as I'm in town, you can use my place.

Btw, did the GPS sign help?

Damn... I certainly hated to miss this class. It was a major decision for me to rush back to Sunny AZ or stay here

for another week ! ! ! Daaaa

Really like to make the next one.

Took her for a test run on the golf course until I got chased off

Sweeeet!!! The YZ's good to ride :-)

Check out her new shoes

Old oil going out

New oil going in (going in both the bike and the body)

I replaced the brake fluid with this but didn't have enough hands to do the job and take pics at the same time

Adjusted, cleaned and lubed the chain, put anti-seize on the adjusting bolts as suggested too. (thanks SouthWestRider)

I took her around the neighborhood and checked the fork seals for leaks when I got back, she looks good to go.

Anyone up for a short trail ride Tomorrow? I wanna see how she goes before I leave her in the garage and head up to Torroweep for the weekend.

Brian,

Sweet looking little bike. I have not been on a 2 stroke since I was a kid and would love to give it a little spin sometime!!!

Update on Toroweap:

http://forecast.weather.gov/showsigwx.php?warnzone=AZZ001&warncounty=AZC015&firewxzone=AZZ102&local_place1=&product1=Hazardous+Weather+Outlook#.UhVhaJ3n-1s

Worst case if the mud is to bad will be to explore the North Rim

Bill

Bluhduh No Toroweap for me.

As much as I hate to say it, I won't be making the trip this weekend. After 2 weeks of doing nothing at work, suddenly we're busier than Michael Jackson in a day care center. It's good to have the work but I was really looking forward to this trip.
Have fun, post lots of pictures and I'll see you on the next one.
