Any thoughts?

I was wanting to know the same thing - for when I get my Safari tank.
I would assume that there would need to be a little trimming to accomodate the larger dimensions of the big tank, but since I don't yet have one I cannnot say how much trimming there needs to be.

Does this ever get in the way of your vision? Can anyone compare the wind protection and buffeting to a 990 adventure? Price to US?

Nice.

I hadn't seen this thread before I tee'd up a mate of mine to make me a mold the other day. He's a retired cabinetmaker/boatbuilder and I watched him make a racing kayak mold a couple of years back. I've done some carbon work with him teaching me the ropes too.

I guess I better get my act together and russle up some lights....

Nav Tower

Can someone measure the thickness of the side plates coming from the headttube mounts and also the thickness of the plates that mount the headlight. I am building a mount for my DL (i am not trying to build a dakar bike, just a project) and this design looks great. Below is the mount I made the other day. It may look bulky but it one weights 1/4 of a kilo.

'Still hoping to see the kit either fit to an Aqualine/Safari tank, or offered by the manufacturer as such

Sorry for the delay

Unfortunately, this project has moved to the back burner since we received 18" of snow on the ground. I have been too busy with the business and moving snow...

I received the fairing back from the painter - not quite the look I wanted. He decided to take some creative licensing with my design. I will have some decals made to soften up the look a bit. Eventually, this fairing will be replaced with what will probably be a new 3-piece design that will have a curved lip at the top to reduce buffetting.

Hopefully I will have some time in early January to install everything. I want to add a 6" road book with remote controls, a GPS mount and the stock instrument cluster, as well as some powerlet outlets, etc. In addition, I will be adding some Flexx-bars so this won't be a one evening type of gig. Stay tuned....

New design from Rally Raid themselves or something you're cooking up?

It will be an improved Raid Designs (not Rally Raid - different company). No need to me to reinvent the wheel.

I supported the Raid Design guys for the Tuareg Rally efforts in 2010 and we have a good relationship. I am confident they will get it right.
