That sounds like the one. Kevin has pictures of me going thru the last sookie hole that did NOT have a go-around. We verified by the photo that the cap was missing before there. So I wasn't going back up to look for the tools.

It must have happened on Bailey Gap. It was pretty easy going up to that point and like Scott said, it was missing in the picture about 3/4's of the way on Bailey Gap coming from Mt Lake road.

EC, we'll get some pictures posted soon just busy as heck right now. I wish we would have taken some pics going down Big Walker, Holy Crap. what a fun trail. You coming to CCC this weekend?

We were on our way to Rick's RDV in TN and couldn't leave til Tuesday.

About 2/3 the way down Big Walker there was a Verizon truck stuck on the trail, I still don't know how or why it got there. After we got around it and finished the trail we were feeling a little too cocky and riding faster than we should have. We came up on a pretty deep rut and the next thing I saw was SLiP rolling through the woods in my mirrors. I was surprised he was OK and the bike was good to go. Pretty scary, we slowed down for a little bit after that.

Just got back from the trail...

We traversed some of the trail in reverse from Damascus north and just got back. All I can say is holy crap! I don't know how error_cooled stitched all of those roads together, but it is much appreciated! A truly monumental effort.

I have a few lessons learned that I will share later, but for now, if anyone finds an old blue CamelBack somewhere on the gnarly side of Big Walker Mountain, it is mine. It you guys think going down that gnarly section is a challenge, try it going uphill in a KLR650 with stock gearing! More later....

Finally got to ride part of the the hard researched, well thought out and graciously shared BRT. We used it to make our way from Harrisonburg Va. to the RDV in Tennessee. Thanks again for the file and here a a few pics.

6 of us started out. Myself, Jaxobsessed, Dynamick, Eddie Bolted, Scott P and H14. We left Tues May 14 and ended up at RDV Thursday evening. Dynamick ended up breaking his ankle in a wreck on Bald mtn on Wed. He and Eddie had to go to work and break off during the trip. Jax and Scott hit the pavement for support and H14 and I stayed on the trail.

Pines campground, near Covington

Bald mtn

Ran into a guy breaking in a new KTM

Tub Run

Merle and his bear dog

Down to 3 riders, lost some tools on Bailey gap

Down to 2 riders

Met up with the rest of the group at Lady Dracos farm. What a great place and great people. Ate like kings and did some repairs and even iced down an ankle. Thanks Tracy and Don, couldnt ask for better hosts.

Back on it

This was the beginning of my favorite part of the trail so far, Big Walker mtn. This little store sits across from the road/path we ended up on. It looked like a cool country store, but turned out to be a souvenir shop. The tower cost 6 bucks to climb, they would have had to pay me to climb it.

A little history and a break and off we went, not realizing what was ahead.

It doesnt start off too bad...

The trail turned into single track and you ended up riding thru a creek bed in a laurel tunnel. It took a while to pick thru the rocks and branches. I didnt take any pics of the rough stuff, too busy.

Then we ran upon this, an abandoned Verizon truck. 2 wheel drive. It was half way from top to bottom. Still trying to figure how he got as far as he did. He lodged it on a rock and tried to pack the rear tire to get out and gave up and left it. Wonder if he still has a job or not. Had to clear some brush to get around, I didnt want to go back up what I just came down!

Then we made our way towards the RDV

Comer overlook

This was the first thing I did at the RDV

Thats my small part of the BRT, Thanks errorcooled
