Thumb Got the tracks!

Error cooled,

I got the gps tracks --- Thanks!!! Cannot wait to give this a run later this summer. I've been doing lots of Dual Sport weekend camp-n-ride, organized weekends over the last coupe of summers (mostly using old-school "Route Sheets") but have not tackled a long, day after day, offroad, gps mapped, camping along the way trek like this. I'm not worried at all about the actually "riding" and/or camping etc., but first I'll ride the Trans New Jersey trail to firm up the gps tracking skill set and then when I'm totally comfortable with being self-reliant on the offroad tracking, I'll tackle the BRT. I rode my street bike, backcountry/primitive camping along the way, down through Skyline Drive and the Virginia section of the Blue Ridge Parkway down to the Carolina border and back, thinking MAN I'd LOVE to get off into the trails around here some time!!!

Thanks! Now I can make that happen.

You guys rock. Great job on the BRT project. If I join you on the 23rd can you ride the BRT slow and easy so an aging, one legged and near sighted fella could keep up on a big Adv GS?

I just sent PM to errorcooled for GPS files, but since I haven't loaded anything on my Navigator V, expect it will be a full day project figuring out how to do it.

Hi 35xj,
Can you tell me what location and time the BRT group is leaving from Ashville on Sun 22nd June? I would like to join you for what looks like a great ride.

Somewhere to leave the truck near Damascus

Guys and Gals
We're planning a ride week of 23rd June (35xj & co)
We'd like to find somewhere to leave our 2 trucks. Perhaps near Damascus, or perhaps near the Parkway on the return leg.
If anybody has some space or a good idea where we could safely leave the trucks that would be really helpful
Thanks in advance,
Bob

I just assumed you and Dave were going to ride there. I may know a place we can leave them. I'll try to get an answer in the next day or two.

Anyone getting out to the mountains on the BRT? The weather has been phenomenal and the hills are finally green to 4K feet.

Camped off Long Run Road this weekend. The BRT goes right by here

Saw 1 car in 48 hours and no dual sports - lets change that

Thumb Appalachian extension to the TAT

Thank you David for providing me your BRT GDB files and KML file. As a novice route developer, I can appreciate the time and effort you put into this project. I can't wait to try out some of your routes and hope to do so this fall.
I've laid out, but (mostly) have not proven/ridden routes from Tellico Plains, TN to Acadia NP in Maine, following the Appalachians, and trying to stay to unpaved roads/trails as much as possible. Did just spend 6 days riding my XR 650 from Tellico Plains to Blowing Rock, NC and back, with 1300 miles of riding and a fair amount of that dirt/gravel.
Your tracks in Virginia confirm some of the routes I've laid out there and provide options for when mine don't pan out. If I eventually develop a worthwhile Appalachian extension to the TAT, you will have contributed to it.
Thanks again.

big duh!!

error cooled, I received the files but was in the middle of a computer change, (I love my new iMac), and I could not open the files. If you could resend these I would be extremely grateful. I am gearing up to do at least part of the BRT in the next month. My KLR is hungry and if I don't feed it who knows what it might do. Your work is selfless and I will give a thorough ride report as soon as I come back. Thank you.
