That could have been us. My brother, a friend and I rode from Blacksburg south starting on Sunday. We came through Damascus on Monday.

I was with 35xj on the trail last week, heading north out of Damascus at about 10:30. There were 4 of us, including Chipnmonkey and TurtleMoye
We saw 3 guys (I think 3) at the top end of Iron Mountain trail; they were heading south.

Yep. That was us. Who was pulling that cool trailer? That thing looked like an engineering marvel.

That was Chipnmonkey. There's a good story there, hopefully the ride report will be finalized by tonight.

As thebugslayer pointed out the ride report is posted at this link and is finally completed. Hopefully after reading it the others will still ride with me.

Received the e-mail and maps. Thanks so much. My riding buddy and myself will be checking out the track around Staunton on July 12.

Appreciate all your hard work!

Hopefully, this is not bad etiquette, but can someone send me the GPX files?

stuartv@force2.net

I'm fairly new to VA. I just saw a mention of the BRT yesterday, looked it up, and found this thread. I'm thinking of hitting the road (or trail, as the case may be) tomorrow morning and spending the 3 day weekend exploring. I live not TOO far from front Royal, so I was thinking of exploring some of the northern portion of the BRT. At least, what is doable on a big GS with 60/40 tires.

I PM'ed EC yesterday afternoon to ask for the GPX files, but I have not gotten a response. Thus, I'm posting here in case EC is not online or able to send me the files by tonight. Maybe someone else can/will and I can load them up tonight and hit the trail first thing tomorrow morning.

If not, I guess I will plot out a paved route for the weekend. Back of the Dragon looks promising...

Thanks!

I believe ec requests that the files not be shared...

I'm planning a ride in the BRP area next week and I would like to hit some of the lighter gravel / dirt roads. I'm a novice off road rider (I mean gravel), on a bike not really made for dirt :) (Caponord 1200) but nonetheless I would appreciate your maps and any sugestions. Thanks !
