I don't plan on changing the overall appearance too much haha
this one's in so much better shape than the other; If I touched it I know I would regret it

I have big Happy Trails alum panniers on the side of it and it has red grips on it though

A mighty fine looking steed Wes, glad things seem to have worked out. Did you ever hear the fate of the JP KLR?

Nice bike, bbp, even if it is a KLR . No, seriously, I think that style looks so much better than the later ones with the extra plastic.

We haz something like 1000 miles of dirt roads in Orangeburg County, just sayin'.

no news on the JP bike,
Last time I called the cops their response to me was basically
'If we find it you'll know.....and, by the way don't expect us to find it'
hahaha...

but the easiest way to morn the loss of a bike is to get a new one- thats what they say, right?

I'm deffinately down for some dirt- I expect to see yall there.

There will be a few of us doing the Newberry Boys Farm ride today. We're meeting up at 12:30 in Chapin near Lake Murray Elementary, going over to 76 Cycle Shop to eat lunch and look at some bikes, then the ride/"parade" up to Newberry.

The XRL has fresh oil and is ready for next weekend. From details on the per and post lunch rides I don't think I will be testing my new bash plate but. You never can tell.
I saw something that there may be another KLR in the group. I think it is showroom fresh and I bet it is real purdy.

If you want to hop some logs that can definitely be arranged.

Happy New Year, you S.C.A.R.Y. bunch (South Carolina Adventure Riders, Y'all)!

My spouse is going to help me start wrenching on Barney tonight, since about 80% of what I ordered has come in. Seems like somewhere I mentioned I was only going to do about 3 things to the bike, heh heh. I had to start a spreadsheet to keep up with what I ordered. Not going overboard, but just trying to make it good and dirt worthy and do a good bit of maintenance since I don't know its history. The pumper carb and aftermarket seat will have to wait for now.

If anyone is on the road tonight, please be careful.

Cry

Took the xr out for a shakedown today I have been running it around town flushing out 10% gas. Runs much better now. Did about 6 miles of dirt road and the only thing not working correctly is me. Didn't need the bashguard but had an unfortunate encounter with a dog, dog lost I didn't even go down, just a bif bump. The owner was riding his horse right there and saw everything. I stopped right away. He apologized about the dog while I was apologizing about hitting the mand dog. But it was me or him, I think if a cruser hit the dog it would have gone down mostly b/c my front end is so soft it just went right over it.
Anyway everyone be careful out there.

happy to hear your ok- sucks for the dog --- to bad it couldn't have had a more responsible owner...

unless it was a very small dog it seems amazing to me that you didn't go down - of course I don't think you mentioned how fast you were going ?

by the way- I've been meaning to get out a tape and measure how big those boxes are but I keep forgetting and I'm at my brothers house and bike-less right now...

looking forward to the 8th and disappointed we couldn't do it tomorrow, too

I'll have to just go scratch that itch a little tomorrow....
