Hopefully we'll get to see that 690r soon!

Laura, the roads I went down in H Cooper Black were not that squirrely last year, but sand is everpresent up there. The Midnight Rooster is a great place for lunch. Electic Menu, real good presentation. You may be able to park right out front. They have a neat little Charleston style courtyard that's nice if it's not too cool. I ran into JalnSC last week, he may attend. I hope to be there if it isn't too cold.

p.s. Slidefighter, you going to an aircraft fuel injection seminar? Maybe you can educate me some more.......

Rooster

Midnight Rooster is good. It's not a real 'meat and potatoes' kind of place. The coffee is awesome. Is that this Saturday? (March 2nd) If so, I'm in. I guess I have to, it being only 3 miles from my house. What time for lunch?

I see it now.

Duh. Now I see Laura's post. I'll be there. Noon Saturday at the Rooster.

Looks like we have some new inmates from this area. I look forward to meeting you.

DirtySouth: I'm glad to show it off and I'd be up for swapping a ride on your 800 GS too. I haven't ever ridden one nor the Tiger 800 XC. I'll try like heck to make the next statewide lunch and maybe we can swap a little saddle time. I'm liking the 690 a lot---nearly double my KLR's hp and 80+ pounds lighter!

Sounds awesome! All the reasons I was thinking about getting one. But I know that my GF is a lot happier on the back of the GS. Especially compared to the KLR.

You are welcome to ride it anytime. I'm actually in between jobs right now and have a lot of free time to ride. I might be making it down to the low country sooner than later.

We'll miss you! No wonder the following sentence which I closed post #1031 with on Jan. 22nd in this thread drew the sound of crickets as a response:

>>> Speaking of Sandblast, that would be fun on a 690, no? <<<

I didn't take the first picture today. It sure was colder than I was expecting. We had nine at lunch, which I thought was a good turnout considering the weather. I was disappointed that the restaurant didn't have their regular lunch menu available in addition to the brunch one. Eight of us rode over to the rally's Patrick service area after lunch. I ended up leaving there and making the 3-hour trip back home instead of going to one of the race stages. I could see rain off in the distance a couple of times on the trip back but managed to avoid it. It was good to see everyone!

Hahaha!! Laura, you catch me every time!! Had to fly IFR to get back this afternoon, but I have to say I know a lot more about aircraft fuel injection systems than I did before. Good course on a mechanical device featuring a simple concept, but which is very complex in practice!

Trying hard to be there in April...

Speaking of which, any idea about where to hold this months SC lunch? I've got my new bike torn apart a bit while adding some upgrades. I'd like to make the SC lunch with it, if it's not too far. Didn't we cancel one that was in/near Aitken?

You missed the march lunch as did I but there will be another in April and the location has not been decided. I will be absent again.
