Plan Accordingly!

Watch your routes Saturday, a couple of the Low Country's biggest events will be ongoing that will impact routing.

Street Closures / Parking

Saturday, April 5, 2013

1. Ravenel Bridge (US17-Mt Pleasant to Charleston) closes at 7am (Both Directions)
2. Calhoun between King and East Bay will be closed at 5am.
3. Meeting from John to Wentworth at 5am. As well as Romney to Woolfe
4. The Bridge Bike Lane will be closed at 6:30am.
5. Woolfe will be closed from Meeting to King
6. King will be closed from Spring to Wentworth
7. Wentworth will be closed from King to Meeting.

Note: The Bridge will remain closed until all participants have cleared the bridge and all staff, barricades and debris have been removed.

I was planning on coming down 176. What would be a recommendation for when I get down around Charleston?
Kalonji, it looks like I may be stopping at your house first to aquire a guide.

This is how I would (am) going:

And if you want a more "scenic" back road rather than SC61, take the Wire Road along the north side of the river:

I was thinking 178 out of Orangeburg since it is on the Folly Side of 26. Once to Charleston area I was going to take something similar to a2ronm. What time were you thinking of leaving the Cayce area today caycek5?

Wish I could make it by then. I doubt I will have gotten sleeping beauty out of her slumber by 9am. Kissing her only makes it worse apparently. Disney lied. But, I sent you both my number in case any of us run into trouble.

It was nice to see everyone that came to lunch today.
I did feel a little like Gilligan though with my three hour tour.

April 26 Ride

According to my aviation weather doo-dah, the weather on Saturday is going to be clear and warm. I'm going to be in the parking lot at the Days Inn motel on the northwest side of I-95 at exit 53 at 10:00 am. I'm planning on a 200 mile plus "road bike, sport bike" run. Don't know where lunch will be, but we'll figure that out as we go if anyone is interested. Plenty of opportunities to ride at your own speed (meaning pass me any time you want!).

I'm going anyway, so if your up for it, come on out. I'll stick around until 10:15 to catch any late comers; after that you're on you're on---we'll be rolling by Harold's Country Club (the first time) about 15 minutes after we leave. I'll be on a blue R1.

Pass this on to anyone else on the network. If you don't think there are any good "road rides" around here, this is your chance to find out differently.
