Good rides between Boone/Blowing Rock, NC

Question for the locals- the family and I are renting a cabin between Boone and Blowing Rock in late September. I am planning on taking my DR350 with me so that I can get in a bit of riding while I am there. I have been able to find lots of info on rides on the Parkway and some of the rides like that. I am looking for suggestions or good sources of info on lesser known rides- fire roads, easier trails, etc. Not looking for any hardcore offroad stuff- Any help/guidance is much appreciated! Thanks-

Oh my, oh my-

Maple Sally Rd
Roseboro Rd
Wilsons Creek area

Also try Old NC Hwy 105

Just head toward Colletsville on the map from Blowing Rock. There are days and days of dirt leading directly out of Blowing Rock on Globe Rd.

If you want a challenge, just go to Brown Mt OHV park as well.
What would you attempt to do in life if you knew that you could not fail?

^ Yep, lots of good stuff there.

Also from BRP, north of Boone, Elk Creek to Darby to Buffalo Cove Road to 268 (mostly narrow two lane highway)

From Blowing Rock, 221 toward Linville, then Edgemont Road down into Wilson Creek (all dirt). Or, keep going to Linville, then on to Newland and Elk Park. Cross into TN, then turn right on Buck Mountain Road (dirt) and on to Walnut Mountain Road. Then Laurel Fork to Dennis Cove, arrive in Hampton. Then 321 back to Little Stoney Creek Road (awesome single lane paved for a few miles).
I HAVE NOT YET BEGUN TO RIDE! - John Paul Jones (sort of)
