going west across the delta is just hell for flat hot and bugs.
I dont go that way much on bike trips just because I dont want to spent 2 hours in the flatlands just droning along. Ill go to eureka springs once in a while but I always despise crossing the delta to get to the mountains. Ive had to do too many projects in the ms/ar delta to ever be really fond of the place.

There is some cool stuff to find in eastern Arkansas if you care to look.

I think it's clear though that the game has focused around in-town locations.

Couldn't help getting the tag today, already had plans to ride the national forest (one last ride on the 650 before I hand the keys to the Misses). I didn't move the tag far since Zgirl had mentioned wanting to see Strawberry Plains. Here's the old tag I grabbed

Here's the new tags, I say "tags" because you have an option Here's your first option. It's all pavement and very close to the old tag. If you don't already know where it is, i'm sure google will be glad to help




Here's the start for your next option (also not far from the old tag), for the dirtier more adventurous folks. Your journey to this tag will begin here @ N 34.69618, W 89.30406 By turning onto road 661D as you can see below.

It is a bit more off road than a normal gravel road but I didn't air down any tires or even turn off the abs, so nothing too terrible. There are a few water crossings that are slick but have a solid bottom. Both tags make greats rides! Enjoy whichever you choose

Today we were busy making a 160 mile trip out of a100 mile trip to Reelfoot Lake. :-)

A lot more curves than the normal route. ;-)

You are very welcome! I'd hate to take away a ride someone was looking forward too! I normally would've just avoided it all together, but now that i've promised Kim the 650gs I may be out of a bike for a bit, while the hunt is on for a new one So this weekend in the national forest was my last hurrah with the 650 before controls get moved, suspension readjusted, etc, etc... brings a tear to my eye to pass it on. Sounds like you guys had a great ride today!!! Hope you can get down to strawberry plains and enjoy the ride

What new / used bike are you looking for? Bill is notorious for finding good deals. That's not his job; he just loves bikes.

I'm looking for a used ktm 950 adventure. My price cap is pretty much 6500. :)
