We had 4 riders for this weeks Thursday evening Adventure Ride and to my surprise Piney Mnt. Rd. was open. We rode the entire length of Piney Mnt. and conditions were great.

Link error message

Hey Jax
FYI the map of south Michaux on page one goes to an error page, so I went to the source and this link seems to be a good one now.

Thanks

I spent a bit of time today in Michaux, found a fresh layer several inches thick of very loose gravel almost the entire length of Woodrow Road between Rt. 233 and Ridge Road. Made for an very interesting ride, and it may be a few weeks before that gets packed down a bit so beware.

jdub,

I assume that was you I passed on Woodrow. I thought about turning around try to catch up to you but it would have a little sketchy in those conditions. I was surprised that you were the only other rider that I saw in the park today.

Hi pos, I did pass one guy on what I thought was a newer Husqvarna near the top of the ridge. If that was you, sorry I didn't wave as my pucker factor on the GSA was pretty high at that moment. I'm glad I just installed fresh knobbies before dealing with that gravel on my big beast! I thought I'd find more mud up there than I did, as that's the stuff I (OK, the kid in me ) still like to play in.

I was on my Buell Lightning. I really need to get a set of TKC's instead of the Scorpion Trails that I have been running.
I did find some mud up there today but I couldn't tell you what road I was on.

A few days ago, I was on the Scorpions on Woodrow Road as well! The front tire was almost useless in that gravel. I felt like I was steering a boat, not a motorcycle.

Just got back from Michaux. That was one scary-ass ride! I was on my Tiger, my friend was on a GS800, both with street tires. We went on Ridge Rd. and then down Woodrow Rd. The level areas were fine, it was going down hill that was a thrill. It seems they dumped about 6-10 inches of gravel on the steep grades. It was a rear brake only ride for about an hour.
The state should post some signs about road work ahead for us unsuspecting bikers.

My wife and I went out for about 2 hours. My allergies got so bad I had to stop.
