Did you get a hat from the copter crew? I was told they used to do that. I didn't get a hat. :-(

I'm starting to rethink riding in Michaux.

Was yours from a deer too?

Maybe we need to organize an ADV deer hunt in Michaux to make things safer for us...

No hat from the copter crew. They were really nice though. They just couldn't believe I had no abrasions on me. I'm all for a massive deer hunt. I hope the one that jumped out on front of me is dead. I'm telling you gents, don't take for granted for a second that one of these mother effers jumping out in front of you won't hurt. It happened so fast, look down, look up, deer, oh shit, bam. And for heavens sake make sure your cell phone is in a protected place, and fully charged before you leave, or take your spot tracker with you. It's a deceptively big place. I was able to lead them right to me with my IPhones GPS co ordinates. Ride safe dudes, ride with a buddy for sure. If I could change one thing, that would be it. Safety in numbers.

I don't remember anything of the crash. I was on the MORE trail ride. As best I can tell, something went wrong and I did a face first swan dive onto a boulder or two.

The rule of thumb we used to tell our MSF students: "If you can eat it in one meal, just run over it".

Bricker Clearing Trail - a fitting name.

I was riding from Forest Rd to White Rock Rd, from there I wanted to head down to Oak Rd. For some reason Mr. Garmin thought Bricker Clearing Trail would be the right way to go...

Isn't Garmin great for discovering new roads?

Anyway, I don't ride alone when doing this kind of exploring.

Looks like it may be time for me to head back over to Michaux. That trail looks interesting, and maybe even legal.

Edit: Found Bricker Clearing Trail on the SF map. According to the map, it is a drivable trail and legal for use.
