Had a great time riding with Jason, his dad and Brady yesterday. It was kind of cool in Blue Ridge Summit when we started, but as we headed north it got warmer. It was very pleasant when we stopped to repair a flat on Brady's XT...

What was most cool for me was the sound, especially at stops - eight valves clattering and four exhausts thumping in a weird syncopated rhythm.

Here are some more pics from the ride:

You're not having fun until you're changing tubes on the side of the road.

Charlie saved the day with his tube patch kit. I carried a can of "Seal N Air" ... which claims to be specifically designed to seal and re-inflate tubed motorcycle tires. I have been carrying this stuff for a year and never needed to use it... but let me tell you... it does NOT do anything!

Getting 4 old xt500s together was pretty cool, and it was a nice day with some nice leaves still left on the trees. It was nice to meet you Charlie.

I guess part of riding a vintage bike is to use vintage tubes
I can't remember the last time I saw a tube that color.

I got up there on Saturday, longest ride for quite some time.
went in on Rattlesnake in BRS and came out on Ridge in MHS. Beautiful day!!!!
Waving at hunters is futile..... but I will continue to do so.

Might be the last hurrah this year... unless it's nice on a Sunday in December.

Nice view of Mount Holly from that point. It's to bad they had to put up a fence to prevent trash being dumped.

Yeah. I had a king-size mattress on the back of my bike to toss over. Was I pissed when I saw that fence!
