Perhaps a thread for Tuscarora is called for.

Thanks for the photo from ranger Lee!!! Those guys have a tough job, and I'm happy to see they still appreciate the beauty of the place.

It was nice and 'warm' today, and most of the snow had melted... and turned the roads to mud:

Nice, quiet day on Biesecker Gap Road and others on the southern end of Michaux yesterday, just had to watch the icy spots.

I was out in the southern end of Michaux yesterday too... but I didn't see any other bikes. We must have just missed jdub. It was odd that it was 45-50 degrees out, but there were still icy spots in the shade.

Obviously too much trouble for him or her to push the remains over the edge five feet away. I think they're visible just behind the front wheel of the DRZ. Idiots abound everywhere.....

Yep, I remember seeing the carcasses there too. I pushed some leaves over them with my boot, to try to hide it. I don't think they are in the photo, but they were pretty nasty looking. I was also wondering why someone just left them there...?

I was at the Oak Rd overlook around 3:00 pm.

Brrrr...

Happy New Year from the Michaux locals.

Sunrise in Michaux this morning. It was 8 degrees when I took this pic today. A little too chilly for a ride, but very pretty.

Come on, wasn't that bad. 100 miles east of you it was 7 when I went for a couple miles ATV ride this morning. (ATV ride hell, it has a plow on the front of it ). Heated gear not only keeps me warm on the street bike but I mounted a plug on the ATV as well. Its kind of fun plowing 8" of powder.

Back to Michaux content. My KTM is now prepped for spring. Before you know it we will be out with Denny on Thursday evenings. Mid to late March should be my first weekend (depending on weather).

The TW does put out enough watts for heated gear.

And I shoveled my drive (the old fashioned manual way) right before taking that picture.

I may be selling the TW soon and getting something with a bit more oomph. I'd like to be able to do more than 60 when I ride to other places than Michaux. Plus getting rid of the Tdub will motivate me to finish my Hawk GT rebuild if I want to ride.

Photos from Michaux SF Pennsylvania

After skirting the base of the mountain from Huntsdale, I headed up Milesburn Road, just as George Harrison's "Here Comes the Sun" comes over Pandora. It did!

Then rode down the other side of the mountain on Forest Road past the reservoir. It's a bit slippery along that water, but not bad really. Now sitting in the bar with hot coffee at Bobby A's on US30. No cruisers lined up in the front of the lot!

Next I'll cut through the apple orchards in northern Adams County to Mt Holly and then northeast to home.

Hey! I've been there!

Hey all, just stopping by to say hi to all you local folk.

In Waynesboro myself, funny seeing all the photos of places I've seen plus all the other places that I haven't been.

Last time I was in MF was early Oct, did an overnight at one of the campsites they have mapped out, #24 I think it might have been.

Doing some winter upgrades, but would love to do some group rides once I get things back together.

Any regular, or for that matter irregular rides scheduled/planned?

Now? Not that I know of. SoPaRider likes to take groups out Thursday evenings, but weather dictates who, when and where in the meantime.

Just meant in general, not necessarily in the cold months.

Looking forward to getting back out there, but it can wait a little.
