I pulled out of the Mountain north of Michaux around 9:00 am. It rained hard all night. At 7 it was 45 deg. At 8 it was 38 deg. At 9 it was starting to snow, collected around 1/4" on the truck windshield. Time to get my 2WD truck (with highway rib tires) off the hill and headed home.

Next weekend looks better, I think Saturday might push 70 deg.

but this rain did wash all the salt away :).

Piney Ridge Mountain Road is open today.

Unfortunately I was there yesterday.

Oh well, still had a good ride. Did the south loop, then hit Milesburn Rd to finish going out the north end on Ridge Rd. Most of the roads are in decent condition, but they have started with the grader. I imagine gravel can't be too far behind. There was one area on Milesburn that still had ice, but that was it for the frozen stuff. Lots of areas that were soft and rutty. Good fun.

Not many pictures from today. Working on standing more and still not comfortable riding on the pegs one-handed.

District Rd

Three Springs Rd, I think

Another soft area on District Rd.

And two panoramas

I see you found some of the pictures of me doing the Trials competition at March Moto Madness. There will be a few more in my Wandering thread in the very near future.

Today I got the final work done on my Hawk GT to be able to make her legal. So this morning I got the title, license and registration squared away and rode around Michaux, but on paved roads only. Here is photo evidence.

Man, is the Hawk a sweet little bike. Last fall it was in two Rubbermaid containers and various other large pieces (frame, wheels, swingarm) in my garage. I am stoked to have her back on the road!

Sweet lil bike PaEbr! Congrats on getting it back on the road.

Well, it's about time I got up to see stuff for myself. Yesterday mid 50s and sunny all day. Game ONNNNN

Met these guys on Milesburn:

They had just come down from Dark Hollow. A bit too muddy for my tastes today.

Actually dusty in places

Sky said something about PMR road being open... well... done been closed up again.

I got out on the TW a little yesterday in Michaux. I was having too much fun riding so I only have one picture. I love mountain streams. Sadly this one is barren of brook trout, but I have found quite a few in Michaux with brookies. I love me some brookie fishing.

And just for you Jack, a couple more Hawk pics. I am completely loving this bike. So glad I was able to resurrect the bike from this mess I bought last summer:

You do good work! Excellent transformation!
I, on the other hand, am really great at picking out basket cases then never really getting started
