Tail end of the colors
In need of a little handlebar therapy
, I took off towards the mountains to see if there were any colors left. I needed to check on some trout waters as well so it all came together at a good time. I usually camp with the KLR but decided to try the Wee for a change. The weather was great and there were still enough leaves left for an added bonus. Traffic wasn't too bad until Friday around lunch. Here's what I got to see.......![]() ![]() ![]() Even though the colors were spotty, the views were great ![]() It's always nice riding along the rivers,it's even better this time of year ! ![]() ![]() Even the paved roads are more fun this time of year ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This describes many of my days, going around in circles....slowly ![]() It was dark by the time I got my hammock and tarp set up,here's the glam shot of my evening meal. ![]() It was 34 deg. when I got up the next morning,36 deg. when I left. Kinda cool at first but a nice ride just the same ![]() This guy.... ![]() was sitting on the top left of the of the brick silo(?),Looked like he was waiting on breakfast ![]() ![]() I finally got to ride some gravel and FS roads ![]() ![]() ![]() A lot of leaves were on the ground already ![]() ![]() ![]() Other than a few hunters,I had the roads to myself in the morning ![]() Things started to get crowded,so I decided to head back towards Georgia ![]() ![]() ![]() It was a short trip of about 550 miles. I have ridden some of the roads before, but it was good to see them this time of year

Nice pics. It seems like you found some good color this weekend!
Is it just me, or did it feel like things went directly from green to brown for the most part this autumn here in Georgia? |

Planning it a little earlier in the month might be better to see more colors, but the roads are great all of the time.

There are still a few spots in the flatlands that have a little color.Though not as fun as the mountains,it was still nice to get out and ride some this weekend although the scenery isn't as nice.
Still some decent riding along the rivers ![]() ![]() Today tblmkr and I went for a short ride in the area (about 150 miles). A good ride,we hit a lot of backroads with some decent scenery. ![]() ![]() tblmkr scooting along some of the gravel ![]() It was good to get a little more riding in before everything turns all brown and icky looking . The colors are just about history for this year.

great pics!
was up around Suches a week or two back - i think you saw more color than I.
What camera were you using? A helmet cam? or were you just adventurous on the "on bike" shots? |
