The official download link @ tuneecu.com is out of bandwidth.

Any alternative download links?

Two or three thread pages back there is a less than 10 minute vídeo with a very clear HOW T about changing maps on the 990. A few pages back there is a link with an archive with the most relevant bits of information of this thread.

How about on the R side, which years have the same map?

Correct me if i'm wrong, but the R map version suits all versions from 09 onwards

Questions on 2008

So hopefully spring is really here in WI. I have been gearing up to deal with the FI concerns on my '08 990 adv. After getting all software and map/s from the website, and then reading the archived info here and the manual from the tuneecu site I have generated a few questions that I could use some help with.

1. 2008 has 2-2 wings exhaust. I figure I would use the akra us spec map, correct?

2. I had removed the "butterflies" to try and help with the snatchy throttle issue, should I re-install them?

3. I don't know enough about FI to adjust any of the values, so will the akra map help with the snatchy throttle issues and not kill the mpg?

Any help,direction, slap up side the head would be appreciated.

I also need to order the cable, unless someone here has one they want to sell. PM me if so.

Thanks

1. akra map will work
2. Depends if it works for you. Did it reduce the snatchy throttle? If not I'd reinstall them. I found changing them to a minium opening of 20% removed that intial burst of power without significally reducing the snatchy throttle
3. I found the snatchy throttle got worse with the akra map. You will get worse mpg especially if you leave the oxygen sensors inactive.

I tried reducing the ignition advance found at around 5-8% throttle as suggested by someone here and intially found an improvement but since changing to aftermarket exhausts and changing to the akra map with the tweaked igntion maps I found the snathcy throttle worse then ever. I think I might go back to standard map with the tweaked igntion vs throttle map as that worked best for me.

>>> Yes, closest map available.

2. I had removed the "butterflies" to try and help with the snatchy throttle issue, should I re-install them?
>>> Yes.

3. I don't know enough about FI to adjust any of the values, so will the akra map help with the snatchy throttle issues and not kill the mpg?
>>> Yes and No. The Akra map has the O2 sensors turned off, this kills mileage. So that will be your first modification in Tune Ecu. Turn on the O2 sensors, turn off the SAS and install.

Any help,direction, slap up side the head would be appreciated.

>>> Get all the basics nailed down first. Valve adjust, fresh plugs, throttle position sensor adjusted, install acra softwre, sync the throttle bodies with an external vacuum gage, cool down, reset adaptation, 15 min idle, and ride it.

I also need to order the cable, unless someone here has one they want to sell. PM me if so.

Thanks
>>> answer above

Once you do all this, then you can start the tweaking process. Smooth the ign, add/remove fuel, etc.
