When I installed a map on my SMT, I played a bit with the monitoring and noticed that when my throttle was wide open tuneecu thought I was at 90% open or so.
Not a big deal since I usually ride my bike (SMT) in mid rpm, but I want to eventually set it right.
Check post 2729 and 2732. Pages 273,274. The adjust procedure is in the workshop manual, but its fairly simple...once the stepper motor has closed the throttle all the way, you want a little slack...turn your bars both ways to make sure slack doesnt disappear.

Don't worry about wide open throttle settings. The idle value is the one you need to set.

Has anyone measured what the cruising Throttle percentage is? Say 70mph, constant throttle. Maybe 10%? 15%? Anyone actually measured?

Haven't tested 70 mph but 60 kmh is about 2 % on my bike. 90 kmh was somewhere around 5 % I think. 70 mph could be 10 %.

Throttle position at cruse is dependant on load. I'm usually between 8-15% at 55-70 mph. Put some marks on your throttle at 8, 10, 15% and check it out.

connection issues

I'm having issues getting a connection to a 2010 990 R. I know the cable works on my 2008 Adventure fine. The blue led on the OBDII connector lights up when ignition is on but I get the red flashing indicator on the tuneecu program and then a connection error message. I searched the internets and have tried removing headlight fuse, battery charger connected, checked for bent pins in connector, laptop plugged into mains, ran with engine on, tried port settings on tuneecu site. I haven't tried running the cable shield to the earth pin yet. Anything extra I need to do to connect to a 2010 model which works fine on a 2008 model?

TuneECU for 990 - got tunes?

Make sure the computer is recognizing the cable. I like to manually select the cable before connecting to the bike so I know the cable is working properly.

I think it's under "interface" it's the tab to the right of "ECU" on the top menus

Thanks Lou, I tried that. The cable definitely works as it connects to my 2008 adventure no problem.

I suspect that won't happen. Traction control, abs, ride by wire, all too complicated.

When we're used to fuss with our bikes electronics it is like an addiction... getting a bike that is "limited" in that way then becomes like not getting the whole package...

lets see if we can convince our tuneecu friends!

Link to Zuber's PDF?

Anyone have a working link to Zuber's consolidated pdf file?

This one seems dead (what am I doing wrong?).

http://www.toxplore.com/advrider/Tun...neECU_WIKI.pdf

Barring that, leaving in a week and wondering in I can get this working;

2010 990 Adv
Rottweiler CPR
FMF Q4 Dual Exhaust
Desmogged and SAS removed

Anyone suggest a good MAP to start with here?

Thanks for any help!

I have the same set up - 2010 - Wings instead of FMF - and used the one from the CPR site - http://www.rottweilerperformance.com/Downloads.html

It works pretty well. Maybe not prefect - a bit of popping on decal and the occasional stall if you pull the clutch at speed, mileage down a bit - but overall it's fine. I'm referring to the first one on the list of downloads.

Can anyone compare the Rottweiler map labelled KM601EU1180232 with the Powertripp map for 2-1. I am looking to try the Powertripp one and see what looks to me like pretty big differences between them in all maps, some only in the top 20% of throttle position. Standard the Powertripp map has SAI checked although it was meant for a Wings 2-1... (?).
Also can anyone point me at a US 2011/12 R Akro map. All I see on TuneEcu is EU maps. ...problems using these (from the name I assume the Rotty map is based on an EU map. ...
