A golf ball or billiard ball also works well, depending on the size of the area you're working on. I wish they were like pilot's helmets where they make a wax mold of the head and use it to make a liner that fits like a glove.

Schuberth Service
After years of lusting for a Schuberth, I finally made my purchase with RevZilla in April, thanks in part to this thread and all the great info. My helmet arrived three days after my order was placed. Fit and finish was excellent. However during my first ride I detected a couple of problems with venting and wind noise from the top scoop. An email to RevZilla produced a quick response that day and a phone call that afternoon from Michael with Schuberth North America. We discussed the problem and he asked for some photos of the problem areas that I sent him that same day. About 30 minutes later, I received another call that he was rushing to my home a new replacement helmet. When it arrived, I was asked to thoroughly check it out and if satisfied, return the original helmet with a freight prepaid UPS sticker that he was providing.
The new helmet arrived within three days as he promised. It was what I hoped for and I am very happy with my C3. It is everything you've heard regarding fit, lightweight, venting, aerodynamic, etc. I immediately returned the first helmet and all is well. Any manufactured product can have defects. It's the service attitude and follow through when problems arise that make a great company and reputation. Both RevZilla and Schuberth have my respect and gratitude in dealing with this problem. I wanted all the inmates to know that Schuberth is much more than an outstanding helmet. You can buy with confidence from this manufacturer and RevZilla as well. Woody

Anthony,
I left a comment on FB but chances are it's going to be overlooked. What do you know about the C3 Carbon coming to the states? The web site says coming in September (depending on your country). So if there is even a chance you are going to be seeing this I'd like to get my name on the list.

Hey Guys,
At the moment we know of no plans of bringing the C3 Carbon to the states any time soon. We asked as well. It would be more than $1000 US by our estimation. Just speculation though. Hope this helps - depressing as it is. :-) Anthony Quote:

Thanks for letting us know. To be honest, I'd be willing to go that much for a carbon version w/ full US warranty. Keep us informed if you hear anything different. For now, I'll just wear out my symax 2 and hornet ds with hopes of a carbon version hitting the shores in the future.
Cheers, Robert

Hey Be Rad,
At the moment I do not have a good estimate. Stock and deliveries have been really spotty this season - and we are keeping a ton on hand where we can get stock. The best thing I could recommend would be a shoot over to the Schuberth C3W page and choose your size color. Enter your email in the yellow box - you will know the second they become shippable. We do this with all of our products. Anthony

So just an FYI I got in touch with Mike at Schuberth NA about the Carbon C3 version. Basically what he said was Schuberth is concentrating on fulfilling the Carbon demands over in Europe but once that is done he believes they will begin safety testing for the US market. He thinks it will be at minimum a year off but probably longer. So I'm expecting 2012 will be the year to watch for it here in the US. You guys over in Europe can suck it!
So if your in an immediate need of a new lid you might as well just call up Booch and get one on the way. The Carbon won't be here for a bit.

Are there any problems mounting a Sena on the C3, including the speakers and boom mic? I'm definitely interested in the helmut but not sure I want to also invest in another intercom system.

If you do I think you have to use the tape on method. I couldn't figure out how to get the clamp to work so I sprung for the SRC. It was added $pain$ but in the end worth it. The microphone is a PITA when closing the lid but I'm getting use to it. Too bad the Sena option isn't easy as I contend it is a much better system (sound and loudness). But then that is just MHO. Now if I could get the front from giving me a forehead indentation that lasts for a day after use...

You will need to use the adhesive mount plate. Additionally, you'll need either the A0302 (speakers) or A0304 (for earbuds). These have a boom mic that isn't attached to the clamp, so you can position the boom in just the right spot. Otherwise the mic will likely not reach your mouth. We have a special 3M adhesion promoter pad that we suggest when using the adhesive mounting plate. This will help it adhere much better that without it.
