Question How many shims @ 24K miles / 30K KM?

Those of you with the 800cc twin's with more than 24,000 miles or 30,000 kilometers - how many shims were required at the first major service?

How hard do you ride? Do wack the throttle wide open most of the time or use the bike for touring / commuting?

Thanks

None, nada, zero, zilch. Good chance most 800s won't even need it at the next one. Hardly ever ride over 5000. Still trying to protect my sperm.

After checking valve lash on roughly 30 or so F650/800GS twins I have actually adjusted only 1 shim.

It was an exhaust valve on a F800GS with just over 45,000 miles.

Not bad in my opinion.

I swapped 3 at 30,000km but they didn't require changing, just wanted to bring everything mid range. Mid RPM touring mostly.
