690 Enduro R - Back Brake Recall

Before someone yells at me for not seeing this in another thread I tried doing a search first, but the search feature on this site sucks (e.g. "690" is too short so it doesn't even use it).

In the event this info is not out there, I just got a call from my dealer that he received a notice from KTM that the back brake on my 2014 KTM 690 Enduro R has an issue with the back brake lever coming lose and needs to be disassembled and fixed.

So just a FYI in case this may apply to your bike.

I mentioned in an earlier thread that the first 690's into Australia were about 3 months behind the states and Europe but mine had a serrated washer and Loctite on mine. Maybe that's the fix in the recall? Its good KTM responded to an issue.
Mine now has a RR brake lever with a 12.9 SHCS that's slightly longer so it wont be an issue.

To search this site, use Google Search as: "search term"/site=advrider.com/forums

P.S. Successfully searching this site for "690" would have returned THOUSANDS of hits. Use more specific terms, such as "KTM 690 recall"

I love my 690 but I just don't get KTM. This bike has been on sale since 2008. How do they manage to mess up the rear brake build in 2014? Whoever is designing their manufacturing processes needs to get replaced.

I think my search was "690 brake recall" and it told me it was not using "690" because it was too short of a word. However, if it used what I asked, then I would think the results would be a short list?

Thanks for the tips!

There is a thread specific to the 2014 model 690 Enduro R. The brake pedal recall issue has come up many times. Here's the thread if you haven't seen it.

http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=900813

Lots of good info.
