White Rim Trail - Varadero - Crazy?

Just thinking here... I've tried to do the White Rim Trail in Moab the last couple of years. The first year I didn't get a start until the afternoon, didn't take camping gear, and met some guys who said I may not be able to complete it on my R1100GS. The next year (last year) I tried again, but there was a tremendous flood that washed out the north end of the trail about 60 miles or so. I camped out over night on one of the overlooks, it was really spectacular. So since last year, I bought a 2008 Varadero. Honda touts it as an adventure touring bike. Hmmm, not sure about that but I am willing to put it to the test I think. So am I crazy to try the White Rim Trail on a Varadero. I know it's heavy, but so is my GS. I would take minimal load on the trail, tent, sleeping bag, and tons of water and cliff bars and attempt it in two days.

What do you think? Is this pure madness?

You'll be fine as long as no rain.

it won't take two days either.... unless it rains

leave your camping gear at camp, do the WRT with the bike as light as you can make it. The sand at Upheaval Bottom and Potato Bottom can be a hella workout, and the climbs at Hardscrabble Hill and Murphy's Hogsback will be much easier without all that gear on a boat of a bike.
