F800GS Missing a Chain Guide
This is my 2011 BMW F800GS. Do you notice it does not have a chain guide? I guess we must all believe that if the chain is tensioned properly no chain guide is necessary right? I'm not so sure. What do you all think?

If you look closely there are some reinforced areas on the bottom of the swing-arm where you can drill your own chain guide mounting points.
Many of us have pushed our bikes to the limit without one, just make sure you set your chain to the right tension and it won't come off regardless of the swing-arm angle. If you feel the urge to run super loose you can add one but most of use (myself included) don't feel it is necessary. FYI... I run my chain with more slack than the specifications with no issues.

Here is a posting you might be interested in seeing how a chain guide was added.

Thanks for the links and the reassurance. I'm going to leave well enough alone. I have some motocrosser buddies who cannot understand the absence of the guide.
