Not lately, but I'll get back there.

Came through Reynosa today, tried to get on the tollway to N. Progreso only to find that it was closed, drove to Rio Bravo and then took the side road to N. Progreso to discover that a small bridge was out.

Drove down a road next to a canal until I ran into some guys with a black pickup who told me that I didn't need to be there , retraced my route back to Rio Bravo, drove down to near the Los Indios crossing, and then drove past the toll road barriers and finally made it safely to N. Progreso.

When the Border Patrol asked me where I had been and I told them they practically took my truck apart.

We will have to compare notes soon Amigo.

[There is always an anxious moments when you are waiting for the stopping time of any activity, to take a break and eat, and comment about the right previous things you have done or seen.
So this was not the exemption, looking for the right spot to place the tent, looking for wood for the fire, checking on the river water, etc, was a preliminary moments that make the trip so pleasant, that you are thinking right there on the next time to ride again.

My compadre upgrading our grilling place!!

done!

The Sabinos trees are awesome, plenty of shadow and refreshing the air

getting ready

We got some beers at the store of Rayones, and by the time we settled the camp, they were losing their cold condition, but the solution was right in front of us.

So some of your sodas exploded? did not know.

what a relief that I carried the beers..

so this reminded me to make the following disclaimer statement:

"During the developing, making and performing of this motorcycling riding trip, never at any moment was injured, mistreated or damaged the integrity of any of the beer we carried along...."

and this obligates me to post my pic of Pata de Perro when went down but with all beer safe!

the pelicans proved to be crush and water proof.

Back in the '60's that was called the "Flying W".
Good job saving the beer, BTW. Now I know I can trust you should we ride together.

I hope to visit PirateJohn some weekend before New Years. Would you be willing to meet us at the Mission Bar and show me these great routes y'all have been riding? I'll bring my Guia Roji atlas.

Ride well,

Schizz

a good chat went after dinner

we got up about 7 am, sunrise views are very nice.

river water was not too cold at this time, actually warmer than the water we have in the camp.

so as I said at the beginning, we met Señor Juan, and in the morning we went to his home uphill to have an excellent breakfast

very warm inside

a very neat kitchen

the fireplace were they cook most of the food instead use the stoves

Mr. Juan was very talkative, he loved the chance to talk to somebody different from his community.

a sample of his harvested nut fruits

next, walking up to see the Ancon Water fall.
