KTM RFS Throttle sticking

I have an 01' KTM 400 EXC. It was showing signs of a dirty idle jet. It would run better at low RPM's with the "cold start" knob pulled out. Barely idling when it was pushed in.

I have it in my garage now with the carb off for a quick cleaning, or so I thought.

Figured I could get away with pulling the bottom cover off and cleaning the jet and float bowl. I noticed the slide had some build up so I sprayed it down with carb cleaner.

Now I'm not sure what exactly is causing the sticking. The slide doesn't move easily now. I didn't remove it and am wondering what I did that is causing this.

Anyone have this happen to them? Is just hosing down the carb with cleaner a bad idea?

At this point the carb is going to come completely apart for a thorough cleaning. Probably what I should've planned on in the first place.

Any better ideas or should I be looking for another problem?

Thanks,
Steve

there is a vacuum release plate gasket/seal on the slide that doesnt get along well with carb cleaner
sounds like you need to replace it as yours is probably swollen

Without doing a thing to it but let it set for about two hours. It's decided that it will work now.

I'm guessing that the carb cleaner had it swollen like you said.
