Ride through Quebec/First Minor Road Fall

Today was one of the few nicer days we have seen in Ottawa Ontario, so i decided to hop on the DRZ and go for a little ride.

Today was Remembrance Day in Canada, and it was interesting to ride by the Parlement Buildings and the War Memorial where all the event coverage took place this morning.

My ride started at about 1:30pm and it was about 8 degrees celsius at this point. Finally some sun!

I took a few pictures of the riding conditions in Quebec. Its fun to ride around in this province because of the elevation changes.

Here I am saying hello to the camera.

Today I went 125 kms on highways, expressways, dirt roads, trails, and small hilly communities. My kenda K270 is pretty much dead, but it got me through the Day!

Almost Dead K270. It has about 4000 HARD kms on it. I have been very satisfied with this tire.

Unfortunately today I took my first spill on the pavement, and let me say that it is much less forgiving than dirt. I was going from a dirt road to a crappy paved road and it was full of sand. I was going a little to fast i guess and the bike just slid out from under me and i watched it slide away. Fortunately I was only going about 25kms per hour. Cut my knee the slighest, and put a few scratches in the plastics. The brake lever and right mirror bent a little, and the peg scraped a little. I picked the bike up, checked it over, fixed the mirrors, and it was good to go.

Heres the Damage. Pretty minimal.

The day turned out to be fun, and it was nice to put some kms on the Z so late in the season.
