Thumb Breaking in the New Bike!

So Tuesday I decided i needed another bike, so i bought one...

There it is, 2009 KLX250SF. I had a sport bike before and liked riding the twisties, but I found its off road ability lacking. So I figured a supermoto would fit well. After putting the first 100 miles on the clock I decided it was time to get off the pavement for a bit.
So I found some two track in a field.

Then the two track, went to single track.

Then I ended up in a county park, so i took a break.

Today I took the long way to work...

I also decided to remove the stupid little bag that wont hold anything on the rear fender. I grabbed a 50 cal ammo can from the surplus store down the street drilled a few holes and bolted it on where the bag was. WAY more usefull now.

When I got into the loose gravel roads I really noticed that the tires on this guy are street biased, to say it slides around and hunts for traction is an understatement.

Theres now 400 miles on the clock. So far I like this bike ALOT. I would have to say I like it better than the Ninja 250 I had before. It handles the rough roads I like to ride better and seems to be much easier to just flick around, especially at low speeds. Also the torque seems to be better, weather or not the top end really suffers is still be seen. I imagine it does, but I really dont care, thus far the impression I am getting is that this bike was made just for me...

Glad to see you are getting that pesky break in stuff take care of. No doubt you'll get plenty of miles in this winter.

Nice bike! Your thread caught me eye because I'm breaking in a new bike too, first one I've ever owned outright. Once the camera gets fixed, I'll throw up some pics. I love it. Love this lifestyle. Congrats! Get her dirty already!

Sweet ride! I always take the "long" way! Even if I don't intend to!
