We would be in the Venasque area and initially plan to do day rides from this location with possibly an over-nighter. Looking at Google Maps, it appears many passes are within striking distance.

Nice!

Great pics, thanks for bumping it back up guys! I've bicycled all over France, including the Brive-la-Gaillard, Castillon, Limoges area and points west, love it there and hope to cover the area east to the Alps. Many routes I'd love to repeat on the moto.

Best,

Eric

I approve

Phil, great ride report, excellent pics. We have visited France many times over the past ten years and my wife enjoys fantasizing about partial retirement there. Combined with my intense interest in motorcycling on tres-cool French country roads, what do you think about this investment opportunity in an area close to where your ride took place? I could be a truffle farmer...yeah, that's the ticket:

Must admit it's a GREAT place to live..... life's slow and most things happen tomorrow which when you first get here can be very annoying untill you realise most of the stuff you want will do tomorrow anyway or the day after.
Stress ......whats that ????? The house is never locked the keys are in the cars and bike the teenagers respect their elders, crime is something you see on the TV......sheeeeesh listern to me going on !!!! have i sold it yet
As for the Truffle farm......how much is it ????? and did you know you get around £1500 to £2000 a kilo !!!!!
Ohhh by the way there's no house with it !!!!! but i could build you one......tomorrow
Phil

Hee! They're asking €32,000...I have no idea if this is a reasonable price. I think we'd need a visa for anything longer than 90 days...it's not a good idea to encourage the Yanks to stay long, wot? I communicate in French pretty well...by "pretty well" I mean the moment I open my mouth and am heard butchering his beautiful language the Frenchman I'm speaking to quickly trots out his English which is ALWAYS better than my undecipherable utterances.

The endless miles of good m/c roads, the bucolic rural pace...what's not to like?
