Hey guys
Im looking for a cheap cruise control / throttle lock to put on my bike.
I want to be able to give my hand a rest or get somthing out of my pocket on long straight sections of road.
Any suggestions ??

What bike?

if you want cheap, just wedge a big o ring between the throttle tube and body.
Theres some pics of it somewhere on here.

No need to go to this extent.

How cheap is cheap?

I've opted to for an Audiovox electronic CC for about $240. Better value IMO than the $100 throttle locks and a lot cheaper than the $1000+ McCruise.

There's a cheap plastic thingo most larger bike shops have (somewhere) that clips over the outer side of the grip and you rest your palm on it. I've used one on long straights and it works as intended, but some care needs to be taken because closing the throttle in a hurry it can get in the way a bit and tend to hold it open a bit. Piss-easy to put on and off though, and fits in a pocket or tankbag 'cos it's pretty small.

Otherwise it's a pearler for less than $20.

That thing in the vidoe has potential.

Nail welded to a hose clamp works for Me. Also weld a washer to adjuster in hose clamp so You can adjust tention.

I'm a bit wary of my throttle rest now....

I had it on the other day when I went over a railway line. Bike (KTM 950se) popped a wheelie and with the throttle rest on, I couldn't back off the throttle at all - it was full on power and no way down. I was 100% convinced I was going over backwards. I still don't know how I got out of it... maybe got the back brake? Whatever I did, the landing wasn't pretty - enough to hurt a wrist.... and the frigging throttle rest came straight off.

I run one of these you can just add enough friction to hold the throttle open and if it hits the fan you can shut it down by rolling the throttle back and it turns off peice off piss

I use a N.E.P throttle lock on my TA. Think the model is CC2. Simple, effective and cheap.
Got it from Coffs Harbour Honda.
