Have any of you ever had this experience? Over the past three years my wife and I have done some wonderful trips all over the Pacific Northwest, Canada, Glacier Park, The Badlands etc. etc. on our adventure motos. On the way we ride to all these beautiful lakes and rivers. We then usually would just take our gear off, dip our feet in the lake and occasionally go for a swim. All the time thinking I wish I could really enjoy this lake and see more of it. Oh well time to get back on the bike, places to go and see, right?
Well this year we tried something different. Although they have been around for a while we discovered Inflatable SUP's, (Stand UP Paddle Boards). I knew about the long fiberglass boards and being an old windsurfer always thought paddling just can't be that fun. Wow was I wrong!
We purchased with a money back guaranty less restocking fee if we didn't like it. We choose two Naish One's - 12'6" x 30" wide , weight 23.5 lbs each. The boards roll up and store in a heavy duty nylon ruck sack, complete with pump and three piece paddle. The whole package comes in a 25.6 lbs and you don't even know it is on the back of the bike.
Our whole trip mentality changed, we now have paddle days to take our adventures on to the water and then on the road the next day. Included are are some photos of the Bend Oregon area and also some from Sun Lakes, Wa. I am sure others have already discovered the aspect but for us it has opened up a new dimension to our adventures.
