Took the dogs campin'...

I just recently got a sidecar body large enough to take both my Golden Retrievers at the same time and we rode about 120 miles from home to a hidden-away camp spot called Horsestomp on Weogufka Creek.

Just to make it interesting the final 5.5 miles to the campground was a county gravel road, but the Victory hack handled it well.

The dogs got to romp and roam at will as we had the entire campground to ourselves. Even got to do some fishing in the creek. Great weekend

The wife and i have spent a lot of time on the Coosa WMA. Canoeing the Hatchet and Weogulka Creeks. And have spent a few nights at Horse Stomp and along the shores of Lake Mitchell. The last time we where up that way,it was a barren landscrape.(clearcutting) Reminded me of Utah have the trees come back? Also we've spent many hours dual sporting on our DRZ and Dr around the Coosa WMA. Last time we where there, you could ride ATV's also. Have they cracked down on the off roading? Just a great place to ride!

Not sure why we're not able to view your picutres, but would love to see them.

For all our good times up there,we've spent a couple horrible nights at Horse Stomp too. Kids with boom boxes and broken bottles everywhere. Rednecks interupting the night. You name it!

Photos...

They are showing up fine in my computer... I think maybe Smugmug uses Flash to create the slideshow I embedded in the first post.

Sorry it's not working for some of you.

The slideshow is of this Smugmug gallery.

Hate that we missed it. Vintage races were way cool though. You didn't cross the creek in the hack did you? Let me know next time you go. I'd love to go back.

Nope... didn't take the hack across the underwater bridge; couldn't have made it out that way on that low-slung rig anyway.

Surprisingly though, the dirt roads from CR 29 into Horsestomp were in fantastic shape and a game warden we met told us the roads had just been worked a couple of weeks ago. Lots of red clay though, so all bets would be off after a good soaking rain

More pics of the Goldens in the hack, please.
I need a setup like that for the old Shadow.

We have two Goldens that just give me sad faces & dirty looks when I leave to go riding...
