I am an expert witness. I have testified regarding automotive and motorcycle mechanical defects as well as accident reconstructions as they pertains to motorcycles and passenger vehicles.

Please, don't be paranoid. You folks have enough to concern yourselves with regarding the Aire and Iice devices. Don't sweat little ol' me. I just want my 1200 to run right. If the Aire works as I anticipate then I don't have to eff with the dealer. Big bonus!!!

Now, get back to potting some Aires, stat! Bessy awaits. Pretty pleez...

It wasn't dramatic ... perhaps about 3 mpg.... but interesting ....
I'd have to be more methodical to say it was real....

I would definitely stay on the problem with the dealer if it were my brand new 1200! Warm or cold the bike should not ping.
Same here about the 1200, but I know that my 1150 drove me crazy with the pinging. It did it during warmer days when under load from relatively new. This was back in the day when the issue was fairly common and often discussed around here so I tried all the home remedies on offer. Some blamed it on carbon, some on inferior gas here in the US, some on an overly lean condition, etc. Then one day someone posted about how to adjust the Hall effect sensor so I gave it a shot and VOILA!! My pinging stopped...

With the knock sensors of the 1200 motors I would have thought this issue had been squashed already.

Had the gadget on my bike for a week now, first ride out was through rush hour traffic in London. It's not a big difference, but it is significant, I found the throttle response to be smoother, which was most noticeable in traffic, it was less 'grabby' which made for easier filtering and generally a smoother ride.

Smooth is the word that keeps coming back to mind.

Looking forward to the cool now :)

Thanks, it takes time to baseline. I saw that you'd ridden it around the block and seen that you'd gotten better mileage, and then packed it up. I figured it was a "long" block, maybe 25 miles? 42 MPG would use 0.6 US gal. and 45 MPG would use 0.56 gal. That would be a difference of 0.04 gal. at the pump. Getting good mileage numbers sure takes effort.

It was about a 600 mile trip with the panniers, which usually drop my mileage by a few points, but things were clicking thru as though I was unlaiden.... but I have to admit my mind was really not on the gas mileage ...
I was heading to see my brother whom I hadn't seen in a very long time

More testing would be in order!

Another nice long ride today with the IICE Air, and I'm really enjoying what it's done for the bike, but, I have a problem. I'm used to it now.

I need another hit, man, I'm jonesin'!

When can we order the IICE Cool?

Poolside - I have a great marketing idea... How about reversing the buyer order on the IICE Cool vs the IICE Air for all us poor folks who have waited so long who are last in line.

Marketing suggested we try and set up a reverse spiff as well.

Sounds like good times!

Wait til you see what what we're working on. JJ has been hard at work. Which so far means that I'll be hard at work. Can't you just hear him? "This is what you're going to do." Same old, same old. Engineering and Marketing, The Eternal Struggle.
