Might I ask what this has to do with this thread?

Seems we are picking up irrelevant strap-hangers....it happens.

Oh well, it keeps them off the streets...

He might be trying to say that pretty much everyone that doesn't have an 1150 and bought this device got the shaft and instead of going through the hurry up and wait game with whatever is coming there are alternatives available now.

In a nutshell, you either understand the nature of this "project".....or you don't and, apparently, never will. ;)

He might be, but now you feel you can answer for him?

And what does his and your comment have to do with this technical thread?

And to put an even finer point on this…

This IS a technical thread.
Not a vendor thread, nor a bitchfest thread.

Treat it like any other technical thread, by dealing with technical issues.

IOW any more off topic posts will be dealt with.

So technically then.

I have the ICEair gizmo, it never seemed to work on my r1100gs, what is this repair, or add on component supposed to change for me?

and what sort of delivery date can I expect?

I had the unit for sale to move on to something else that might hopefully work, but if there is a bit of hope that this unit might be made to work on my bike perhaps I will hold off.

The 'upgrade' is for most of the 1200's

And since your 1100 is not affected have you tried different jumper settings?

The links are dead?

I have tried all of the jumper settings.

my bike might be unaffected, but I bought the device with the understanding that it would fit and work on all of these bikes, so that in the event I wanted to sell it later, I would have a potentially wide market.

this new found knowledge has reduced the marketability of a product that I bought based on that understanding.

second line of text, in the vendors forum

"The IICE products are plug-in performance mods for ALL fuel injected BMW bikes! Click here"

from this thread

http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=667661

perhaps that should be changed?

Your 1100 is unaffected by these changes as are all 1150's.
As for the links not working… I'm not sure what happened so I snagged them again…

As for the universality of the IICE Air, that is being addressed by the digital IICE Air.

Good grief..." My bike might be unaffected" ???????? So the different settings do or don't make any difference in the performance of your bike? So it does work on your bike.

And you bought the IICE AIR as an investment that could be sold later ??? You have got to be shitting me !!!! [expletive added back in...]. If that is your retirement plan, re-selling a $100 item, you need to get on as many government handouts as possible and do it soon. And I thought I was a tight-ass with a dollar.

I am not thumping on folks for asking questions....but damn cut out the complaining and whining. We all knew the nature of this device and that it was and is being refined and developed. ALL of us can benefit from a fully functional Air-Cool-Smooth device. BMW sure as hell did and has not got it correct; so give PS slack and show a little patience...without the cheap shots.

Do I want a fully operative Air-Cool-Smooth for my bike? Damn straight, but getting one is a much better option that not getting one, so I can wait.

Since this IS a technical thread I posted some technical questions a few pages ago but got no answer. Maybe you can help answer them.

I am confused (which happens easily). Does this mean the new IIce thingy will replace the IIce Air by combining it's function with the IIce Cool and IIce Smooth? If so it poses two questions.
- Is there any further need for the IIce Air and the add on repair plug in for the IIce Air after this new digital product is available?
- Is this new combined Smooth Cool Air device basically going to accomplish the same things as the AF-XIED product?

It sort of sounds like it to me but people can buy the AF-XIED product off the shelf right now so why would they wait an undetermined amount of time for design, development, testing and production of this new device?
