Poolside,

Thanks for the update. The details of your difficulties makes me glad I no longer have the troubles working as an electronics manufacturing engineer.

Not that software is all that great now either.

Poolside. We have used Sunstone circuits for PCB production and Screaming circuits for board assembly for prototyping at work. We had Sunstone ship the PCB's directly to Screaming for assembly. We have done a few dozen different designs this way without a single problem to date.

Not sure about the pricing...it's all relative.

As I was saying, the company I was using is a one-stop shop. Meaning they do all of the 7 or so individual PCB fab processes in-house. After failing to find a realistically-priced short run PCB house, I resorted to the other alternative. Namely, to use locally-based individual service companies, and walk the boards through the separate fab processes myself.

No big deal. All I have to do is locate and vet 7 separate local companies that I've never done business with, that are reasonably priced, that other companies speak highly of, and can deliver within the scheduled time frame.

No problem. I had one lead to a copper plating company that I used 25 years ago. I wonder if they're still in business? Surprisingly, they are, and the guy remembers me! "Did you used to come over here with your dog?" he asks. Yep that was me!

Anyway, it's been 2 weeks and as of yesterday I think I found all the right service providers.

And now to the silver lining part. Due to the minimum order requirements of several of these companies, there's going to be lots of extra boards. Something like over 1000 extra! And, they will be lead free RoHS compliant. That means if and when the time comes, they can be shipped worldwide.

If going forward, your product is looking to ship worldwide, i am sure you are going to tons of orders!!

I for one is really glad you are taking all these effort to do everything within your means to try get out a product that will benefit all BMW riders!!

Keep it up!!!

Groovyness, but what will this mean in terms of getting finished product out the door? That's the question on everyone's mind I'm sure!

Has anything changed with what I ordered?

So, by not reading the posts you get this hair brained idear that your entire motorcycling life has just turned upside down. And you want assurances that all is well in IICE-land?

Well let me re-assure you that the IICE-Air hasn't changed and that you'll get the same product that you ordered... Some people really like to custom modify the farkles they add to their bikes, which probably led to your confusion.

It still has the same adjustability as before, and it still has the same plug-n-play ease of installation.

So fear not that the world as you know it has turned upside down and go forth with confidence that IICE-Air will be there for you.

JJ

No HRR, the product hasn't changed. Like JJ says, one or two guys want to add a remote-mounted switch to it.

So sayeth the Lord Mayor of Advtown. The sun will still rise in the East and set in the West. For everything there is a season...yada yada. So it is written, so shall it be done. Now go hence and bitch-eth no more.

You know...I think you guys got a lot of guts to develop, manufacture and sell something on a forum as large as this. Not too many folks would, I don't think, for fear of all the critics, sidewalk lawyers (and possible real ones), stone throwers and just plain trolls. I probably would have given up long ago with a nice "F.U and see ya later."

Good luck to you on this and a pat on the back for doing it. I didn't buy one, but I am watching and very interested in how it works out.
