Unfortunately that sort of clamp will not work for this setup, it's too rigid. Which I know may not make much sense. I guess the thing I haven't made very clear is that these IICE Air boards sit in the fixture for nearly 24 hours while the epoxy cures. The setup for potting, before involving and tightening the fixture, takes about 2 minutes. And tightening the fixture takes about 15 seconds. I know this fixture looks a little gangly, but it has to be that way. The first several iterations were more heavy duty looking, but they did not work because they weren't 'loose enough'.

I appreciate your contribution, a toggle clamp might be the perfect thing for one of the assembly operations on the next product, the IICE Cool. I don't think I would have thought of it unless someone mentioned it. I even forgot I had some of them to experiment with.

Assembly report.

It's a good thing I was good at the game Operation! when I was a kid.

These steady hands have been doing parts prep work. Cut, trim, punch, etc. What did you do over the weekend?

I went out today and sat on my Hack and made Vroom Vroom noises because my Hack was without an IICE Air device...

Then I shot the shit out of a bunch of targets to blow off my pent up excitement...

You know how they say that you can love what you do so much that you'd do it for free?

This is where the marketing dept. gets to chime in and say…

We're loosing money on every sale, but we'll make it up in volume…

Of course this whole 1st assembly product run is WAY more complicated than the next IICE product will be, so after this steep learning curve, IICE Cube (or is it D-coffee, or block ) will be a breeze in comparison…

And we're think'n about a 'special' surprise gift in every box just as an added bonus for all those who have been so patient. I dare not say more lest the marketing dept. be accused of giving away the store…

Hang in there we're almost there.

I heard it was going to be a complete water-cooled R1300GS motor and drivetrain with brackets to fit into the 1150 frame.
