After 5 tanks of gas my testing is complete.

My bike and I prefer the -20 position.

Mr. Head. At the risk of getting too excited, can you elaborate on what you found ?

And Poolside, thanks for the teaser pics.

I see mine in that pile.

Some suggestions; get rid of the coffee and Kit kat, replace with Jolt and some Levi Garret. Lets get this show on the road.

Yes I know, I am now at the back of the line.

Kidding of course, It is looking good. I still can't ride, so I am Jonesing REAL BAD.

Me and you, bro. But we're hanging in there. I just want to open the package from poolside and make vroom-vroom noises while holding it near the bike.

3 more weeks at least before the sturgeon releases me.

Configuration:
2004 1150 GS Adventure, 171,000 miles.
Stock headers, and CAT, TT end Can.
OEM Air Filter.
Removed BBoC, in the interest of beginning from closer to stock.
TPS value unknown, but seems fine. It was fine last time I checked.
Good sync on TB's, Valves are fine.
Idle has always had a hesitation and slight bog off idle. The idle is set to about 1100 rpm is, maybe about 1200.
Removing the BBoC, and installing the IICE the hesitation is gone. This was enough to stall the motor if I did not have a hand on the throttle at warm-up. This is no longer the case. The idle is nearly as steady as any BMW I've ever worked on, (I've had BMW dirt under my fingernails since the mid 70's).

No Change:
No change felt, slightly lean in my configuration.
No different from the IICE being absent.
But, this is better than stage one settings on the BBoC.

-10
Still feels slightly lean.
No surging, but less smooth than -20.
Feels less strong when whacking the throttle than -20.
Closing throttle feels slightly more abrupt than the -20.
Harder to spin the rear up in the canyons. I almost stopped at a shady turn out and changed back to the -20, but in the interest of testing I "stayed the course"... I didn't like it, but I did it.

-20
Best throttle response which is apparent right off the stand.
Very nice.
Smoothest throttle response when opening and closing.
Seat of the pants feels like much better power.
In the mountains I was easily able to spin the rear TKC80 past traction, which is fun.

-30
Seems rougher on and off throttle, i.e. opening and closing.
Feels less powerful than -20.
More abrupt off throttle response.

Summary and Whatnot:
My bike has had the TPS and screwed with, as well as the LHS TB rebuilt, the seal at the shaft was leaking. "Zero" is unknown on my bike. The bike has been screwed with.

Fuel Economy did not stick out as an issue. The tanks I ran through were over nearly two weeks of commuting through traffic and a weekend playing in canyons. I did not see any great variation other than at -20 in the canyons I seemed to be burning fuel somewhat more quickly and spinning the rear tire up a bit easier than at -10, or even -30.

To me the difference between -10 and -30 are less than the difference between all settings and -20. In my bike -20 feels that perfect.

There is this little wheelie bump at the bottom of my hill that I get to jump every night on my way home form work. Yeah, commuting is tough.

I used this exercise to eliminate any altitude affects on my testing since I'd spent the weekend wandering up and down mountains. The -20 position is just flat amazing at this task. With a freshly full tank last night the front comes up real easy with a throttle dip. No big exaggerated movement required at all.
-30 on this feels almost like a fat carb.
-10 feels lean at this.

When I initially installed the IICE it was in the -20 configuration, so I ran a tank with that, then pulled the BBoC, and re-ran the -20.
A tank runs about 280 miles or so.
I'm on my sixth tank of fuel from last night.
My usual commute speeds are something more than the posted limit, but just keeping up with traffic. some might interpret this as speeding. The motor officers all pass me.

I already warned my bride that when I get back on the bike I might be gone for a day or two. I told her to check my spot and thats where I'll be.

Hell I might even drive out to Texas, just cuz! Wait what am I thinking, it is hell kind of hot out there. I just ride Death Valley, it is probably cooler.

Did anybody take note of:

"Configuration:
2004 1150 GS Adventure, 171,000 miles."

171K on an '04. Thats better than 24K per year. I am impressed. I hate to say that I don't have 24 K on my '07.

Mine only pings if I lug the bike uphill, or lug it on the flat in hot weather. Triple digits, F...
It was hot this weekend, and we were following part-time pirates and tourists at times. No pinging.
