Tomorrow my brother and I are heading up to Lytle Creek for the first time. Are there any gates that may be closed that we have to worry about ?

Thanks for the heads up. We figured we head up towards the summit and then Lake Silverwood.

Start from Sierra Rd and take stuff north and general east until you bump into the 138. Then go east to the 15. Cross the freeway and go left/north on the dirt road immediately to your left. You're now in / heading towards the Baldy Mesa area, on trails heading generally north and west.

Find some high ground and look for a group of sandy hills to your north/northwest. Then find trails that take you in that general direction, popping up on high ground to make sure you'll still heading towards those hills.

The hills are steep, sandy, fun, and sandy. Enjoy!

The weather was perfect today. We ended up parking at McDonalds off of 138. Only 3 photos were taken.
The start

Baldy Mesa Peak

Lunch

Myself and my brother

We ended up riding up 3N24 up to Baldy Mesa. Did the ridgeline all the way West. Then we found some cool single track that took us towards Phelan. A couple of stolen cars down in the canyons. We then went up and over some ridges to make it back to I-15. Had a little lunch and then headed home. Good little 4 hr ride. Both bikes ran great ! I think next time we will go towards Silverwood and up the mountain.

Was planning to do the Ride For Kids this Saturday (tomorrow) but some things came up and I can't make it

Gonna get out for a local ride with dad on Sunday instead

Usual deal... 9am at the Sierra / Lytle Creek Chevron

Anyone interested?

Hey Matt,

I'm doing RFK so can't make it out on Sunday. However, next Saturday (or Sunday) I was thinking of repeating our big bikes Big Bear ride.

If I can get these together and change out my leaky countershaft seal in time, I hope to join you.
