Saturday: AirbornDad Leading, very slow-paced ride, true-blue noob speed, shorter distance, get acquainted with dirt, etc.

Sunday: Rider914, Ben99R1, and others will put a little "rider clinic" together for us. It sounds like open spaces, some technique tips, etc.
Wow I may just hafta ride both days.

I am totally confused about who is in for which days, but sounds like some of you are coming from far away. Pretty cool! Sure hope we can make it worth the drive.

If the group turns out to be big (8+), i'd aim for someplace fairly close so as not to have noobs strung out across the desert. There is a small staging area on Elliot Ranch road (Cleghorn access off of 138, ~10 minutes from 15) that might work if not too many quads / UTVs screwing around. Room enough to practice, adjacent to some easy dirt roads and mild hills. Summit Inn is nearby for lunch. Also some easy riding along the RR tracks to Baldy Mesa and other dirt networks.

Otherwise, Stoddard Wells or Lucerne are both > 1/2 hr pavement away and its gonna be cold

rowher was epic today. gonna need some new bars for the yami. pretty sore. actually crashed on a fire road 1 mile from the truck. third gear high side. go pro was already put away. the dirt was sweet, and there was a little snow up top.

I am 80% in for Sunday. Got a late night planned for Satuday, but will have some monster in the fridge. See you at McD's off the 15 at 8ish.

sounds like a plan!!!

you're riding on Sunday, right!?!

less or no pavement is better for me since i'm floating on an OR plate.

You won't be the only one with an Oregon plate. And I have no plans of changing mine. :)

I need to get my left rotator cuff working again too. Partial tear when I (freaking brilliantly) stepped backwards out our front door, tripped on some water bottles *I* had left there, and grabbed the door frame to catch myself. *RIP OW OW OW*

Thanks for the reference to the rock garden body armor, btw. If it's as comfortable as the site claims, maybe I can wear it at home, too.
