Free food, but the beer will cost ya
I have a VIP Wing Party certificate to Hooters on Milliken that I need to use by 3-1-11. It is good for up to 200 wings and 9 other FF's.
Beer is NOT included. What I am thinking is a Noob friendly ride, similar to what Keith, Justin and I did a few Thursdays ago. 1. because I am a noob & 2. hooters wouldn't be fun if anyone was hurt. We could end it at Hooters and have some wings (on me) & beer, BYOB. I need a ride leader and 8 noobs. (I am on an 800gs, so the route needs to be somewhat big bike friendly) I am open to either day; Saturday or Sunday. I just have to give the Hooters 24 hours notice. Anyone interested? If we get more the 10, we probably could figure something out. Robert |

We learn so much, gain confidence, build our skills, and just thank God we make it through some of those sections upright (or not....). I mean, hammering through the sand washes is SO COUNTER-INTUITIVE to me, but I followed the advice, leaned back a bit, rolled on the throttle a bit, and stayed upright... The whoops didn't bother me as much as some of the other guys, but I can see how 10 miles of whoops might wear you down... The single track through the bushes, though, following Rider and M1Jeep, was fun in its very own way too! Good times for sure! I hope Matt and Company are upr for it again next week!

So it was getting late, time to find our various ways home. A few broke for the superslab, while the rest of us burned pavement over to Lucerne Valley. Not the most exciting route, but perfect weather in the dez made it okay.
![]() A few more peeled off at Hwy18, leaving five of us to find our way back to McD's where The Rider and KLRrob had trucks waiting. Pretty uneventful other than some drama while navigating around a big washout. ![]() ![]() KLRrob and Hababam ![]() M1Jeep ![]() Sun had set by the time we reached 15/138. Hababam was still up for more riding, so I plotted a course thru the hills over to Lytle Creek. The first road over to Lost Lake got pretty chewed up by last months rains (the noobs of 12/26 will remember). Time to practice slow speed skills navigating lots of ruts and washouts. Hababam made it thru with only one slipup on a steep downhill turn (sorry, I was too far away to get a pic). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I waved Hababam ahead at Applewhite since he's been over this before. I think he must like this section because he was ON IT! At the top we made a right, then a left to drop down to Lytle Creek road. Totally dark by the time we hit pavement. ![]() One last 'almost' shot on the highway before I peeled off for home. ![]() -M

Guys, a bit off topic, but please send prayers our way. We got a bit of a miracle, last minute authorization for my daughter to be seen by the best children's bone marrow transplant doctor (for Scleroderma)--we're sitting at Ontario Airport waiting for our flight to Seattle (Seattle Cancer Care Alliance/Children's).
Please pray (and keep your fingers crossed) that she is found to be a suitable recipient. Thank you!
