He's got his name and number on the pink bag too, just like his underwear, just in case someone finds them and wants to return them or maybe just wants to hook up.

I got new tires now a question and then a rant.

question, does any one have a piece of metal i could use to make a cheap ass skid plate. like a road sign they cut up for the Al. (dont worry thats not were i get mine at home i buy it from the store. ) i just want something to stop a rock kicked up my my front tire going threw my case.

and now the rant, and the reason i dont want to spend money on a skid plate.

you guy killed my bike I like to shift blame to others. well its using a lot of oil, way more then before. there is a little coming out my water pump still but not a lot (last time it covered my whole subframe, not like that now) but its drinking the stuff like crazy. and its starting hard, even when warm used to always start right up.
I need to pull the tank and see if i have oil on my plug, and that is my sad story.

well its smoking. black when i rev up and blue when i let off. add in the 21,000 miles, the metal chips in the crankcase and that every thing on the bike is beat to crap i think it time to move on. :( i mite see if i can take the tires back.

there is a f650gs Daker in San Diego that i was looking at, would have to pull together the money but we will see. but hey it was a fun time last weekend. I'm just happy i made it home i would barely start this morning.

the new version of what is known as the KLR650 burns oil.
sometimes to the point of engine failure.
take it to a Kawi dealer and have them do it on their dime.
or you could put new rings in it and that might help the cause.
also do your "doohickey".

the metal bits probably are the rings.

there always is a "tech day" in So Cal. usually in San Diego with Eagle Mike.
look on www dot klr650 dot net

the metal bits are the cam journels. there is a grove that a piece of the cam rides in. acts as a thrust bearing. i broke that off a while ago Opps my bad.

the bike never burnt a drop of oil till two weeks ago. never, and i never got low on oil it just decided to go this last week, may of been how i rode it.

did the do-hicky when i first got it. even had to redo it as the chain streached to the point that it ran out of play had to sand down my case to give it more swing.

its a 08. but i never had a oil burning problem till i started to use it like a dirt bike. im thinking it might be my valve seals as i never changed them when i palled in the new valves.

yeah that last one is a long story. but even if its just that with the bad journels the head is not worth throwing money at.
