Likely I will be out riding in the Cajon Pass area anyhow. Small bike, moving fast, hunting for secret single track in the Baldy Mesa area.

nice... I like your ride plan

I saw this group last week just as they were about to leave the McDonalds. I was hoping there would be a similar ride this weekend so that I could join up. Will there be anybody meeting around there Sunday a.m.? Or is anyone doing some ride somewhere near the Cajon pass, Mt Baldy area or even Angeles Crest? I am much closer to I-210&I-15 with a Husky TE610. .

Hey speedy-
Didn't see your post 'til this morning.
I'm aiming to leave home (210/Haven) around 9am, stop for fuel at Sierra/LytleCreek 9:15, then head for the hills.
You are welcome to join.

Nope. I just picked up this scooter 3 weeks ago and today was only my 2nd time on it. FUN bike, but I seem to be gravity checking it more than I want. Gettin use to it though. Darn these biologically short legs

Good ride speedy
Woulda never guessed this was the first time taking the 610 off-road.
Kept up a solid pace all day , which means I didn't take many pics.

Saw two rangers on patrol and the volunteer crew on quads, so stayed only on the designated routes

Some water flowing in Lytle Creek.
Not as much as a few weeks ago, but still icey cold.

Planning to meet my dad 9am tomorrow (2/19) at Sierra exit, Chevron gas station.
Usual stuff... Lytle Creek, Cajon Pass, brunch at Summit Inn.
Supposed to be some overnight sprinkles, but gone early morning.

Did you miss the road blocks by then?

There was some kinda bicycle event going on and they had lots of roads closed. Frontage road was closed at Duncan, so had to take I15 up to Sierra where I found out I couldn't go up Lytle Creek. Figured dad might be at the Valero, not allowed to come down to the Chevron. Back on the freeway, then loop back on Glen Helen Parkway which turned out to be only open one way back to Lytle Creek... Only the 'officials' were not telling people that they could only go up Lytle Creek, not down to I15... and the officials did not seem to know that Lytle Creek does not go through for normal traffic...

Never did hook up with dad. I tried to guess where he might wait, but took too long to get there. He tried to guess where I would be, but couldn't go there without getting stuck in the wrong place, so eventually headed home. I asked 4 officials if they had seen another orange bike (just like mine!) milling around. They all said no. Talking to dad later, he passed by the same officials only a few minutes ahead of me. WTF?

Also made the usual loop, early lunch at Summit Inn, back down thru the pass ~1pm, and all the roads were open again.

Didn't see any signs of such goings-on. Lucky to not be a morning person i guess.

Catch you next time.
