Unfortunately, my scoot did a cartwheel off of a friends trailer. Just got the estimate today from Eric's KTM in Pasadena. So I'm down for at least anther week. Hope you have a good ride.

Think I will get out for an easy ride on the 950 tomorrow (3/24).
Usual stuff in the Cajon Pass area. Lunch somewhere...
Short day, home in time to get everything cleaned up for the nOOb Rally.

That'll also leave sunday open for taking the 525 down to Anza Borrego

But hey, what's up with the 4 orange Kool aids & I'm the only pinot grigio? Ciao!

Sooo...
Ersin, Dave... Where are the pics?

Good to see you out on the bike again Speedy
(BTW... Dad doesn't have a screen name, but some call him Bob.)

Sorry 'bout all the fresh grading on 2N49 (Palm Ave to Lake Silverwood).
That inconsistent surface is not a pleasure to ride on

I didnt ride these trails for a long long time. It was about time to go back there with natives.
Here is the man who rides these trails for 50 years, maybe more, and knows every single one of them like the back of his hand. It is always a great pleasure to ride with Bob. He is not only a great rider, he is a great teacher as well. He gives you all the information you want about the surrounding area and trails.

Bob, AKA Rider914, Sr.

This is top of a hill where we rode last year in a windy, stormy, day. Here is the link of last Feb. ride.
Last year we couldn't get of the bikes, we couldn't turn the bikes around, we couldnt do anything other than grabing the bikes to not to drop them.
But this time weather was perfect. No wind, low 80's. Perfect day to ride. Here is the view.

Matt & Bob

Then we rode some rocky down hills. Every time we ride here Matt finds something new to show us.
Speedygee68

Dave

Then the terrain got weirder But we kept riding. We hit some snow patches up there as well.

Dave's interesting and bright 2-LED head light setup.

I asked Matt to show me a nice spot to camp for a day or two in the area. He was taking us to top of a hill with a loooong steep and rutty way. I was following Speedygee68 and a little too close as usual, I had to slow down in the middle and got stuck.
I always do this mistake, follow a rider too close and have to stop in the middle of a climb. I need more speed and more momentum to ride my heavy 990 uphill. Lesson learned...
Here is Bob climbing up easily...

Anyways... Thanks to Matt and Dave I managed to roll it again and made it tot the top. Dave learned a lesson too, you have to be in top form to ride with me, because you never know when you have to push my 990 up hill or help me to lift it up...

But the hassle totally worth it. That spot was amazing. 360 open view, nice grass area for a tent and some trees for a shade. I'll come and camp here soon, if I can make that hill...

Then we headed down to Cleghorn and had some snacks on our way back home.

Oh, I almost forget. Now this is what I call hill climb...
Hill climb done right, by Rider914

Rest of the pictures are on my SmugMug.
Thanks guys for a nice Saturday ride...

Locked Gates

I thought I'd do a little mid-week run through the Lytle Creek Area/Cleghorn. Pretty much every gate I went to was locked. D'oh!! I was only able to ride along the powerline trail. I guess I'll have to wait for someone who knows what's going on. I also need to learn the other access points. At least I brought my GPS this time.
