first I want to thank Rider914, The rider, Ben99R1 and Erwin8r for being such good sports and coming to my rescue more than I can remember, even though my body feels like that I went 12 rounds with MIKE TYSON, I'm still smiling. I had a lot of fun.
I learned two very good lessons today, 1, when these guys say it is a noobs ride, do not believe them, we did every thing today, steep up hill, down hill, single track, two track, rock garden, wall climb, and lake crossing , for a second I thought we were preparing for the Erzberg Rodeo.2, Do not attempt to cross long, deep water crossing with two feet deep wet sand on the other end. before the ride leader make it across or you go flying over the bars in an inverted superman the second that the bike gets stuck in deep wet sand with the consistency of concrete

What can I say... It was a wild, crazy, dangerous, cold, hot, tiring, and amazing ride!!
We hit sand, whoops, washed-out washes (uh, yes, I know, redundant--but you had to be there...), knarly brush-busting single track (yup--ask the guys), deep rutted-out muddy drops, solid climbs, dangerous narrow bridge crossings (enhanced by Rider914 psycha-ma-logical branch placing...), failed deep water surfing, mud bog digging action, high-speed gravel, highway blizting, decent mexican food and Dos-XX beer (ok, ok, I had a Corona! lol), and just generally a great time that I will never forget! After lunch, Rider and Rider14 told us they would take us down a more relaxed path... ![]() Wow! That's when we hit the whoops, then the knarly single track! Man, was it fun!!!!! Towards the end of the ride, after dropping my bike a couple times from sheer fatigue, i rode up to Rider914 and told him that I was cramping up.... I mean, I had cramps where I didn't even know I had muscles! I soldiered through to the end, and was relieved and sad to hit the JitBox parking lot... Relieved because I could change into dry clothes and rest my weary body, but sad that such an awesome (and epic, to me) ride was over...Thank goodness that Ben was kind enough to let me follow him or I don't know how I would have got across some of the craziness. Thunderdoggie was a great riding partner and it was fun to follow him through some of the stuff... Rider914 and Rider are just awesome riders--it put me at ease to know that these guys were scouting the trail and looking out for us (even if they were filming some of the carnage.... LOL!). Thanks, guys! And we have to do this again very soon!
