Excellent report. Tough trip. I second the recommendation regarding Valdi's Motor. Valdi did my GSA before a big trip south.

I have done two Iron Butts a 24/1000 and 36/1500 and on the second ride I left it too late in the year to my Florida basted skin. Riding in 55 degree weather and forcing myself to keep going was the hardest part. You should congratulate yourself for riding in rain and cold and the dark, with a bikini fairing only and doing what is essentially a Bun Burner Gold (24/1500).
