Thanks for the pics.
The gray ones are a lot more common. The Alaska Blue, in certain lights, had a sort of purple sheen to it.

It looks like the stock color mine was as a lowly /7. Almost got the burnt umber color but went with the blue, it was striking.

That was a fairly common colour in Canada. Looked good.

Nice mufflers.

got one too

Mine`s a Gold metallic 78. These bikes sure are pretty. I got it in 89 or 90 from my friend, the motor and trans were out of the chassis. He owned it from new. the chassis sat that way for 7-8 years. I rebuilt the motor with CC products 1050 blitz kit and the high lift roller rocker arm kit he had back then along with upgrading the valve seats to run on unleaded fuel and dual plug heads.
She finally let me down and quit running in Aug. 2009. No spark, I suspect the dyna 3 ignition finally failed. Never took time to find out. She`s been hibernating ever since.
In Oct. that year I got my Uly.
The ol RS was fast for an RS, I rebuilt the Bings a couple summers back and she would run the speedo right to 130. Torque too but not like the Uly.
She needs a new home!

Rocker covers are on the wrong side. See how the lines aren't parallel to the headers....they should be. The rocker cover will have a R or an L on it, in the middle area, on the outside.

Looking mighty fine.

I'm glad they changed the mirrors from the wind tunnel shot style!

I'm glad they didn't go with the front fender...looks like it ran up the ass of a KTM.
