I would love to take it if nobody wants it.

I posted this pic of my 83RS maybe a year and a half ago so maybe it's time to do it again. The bike is still in a state of "hibernation" in my garage.

Is that the Luftmeister turbo?

Any notes to share? Please?

Do you need someone to help wake it from hibernation?

Unfortunately this is the only one I have right now. The group ride at the first Oklahoma Boxerworks Rally, it's the one on the far right.

It's the only RS that you have right now? How many do you plan to collect?

Yes, more photos, please.

I'm collecting pics of the R100RS. If anyone can be bothered, could you email them to me, as high res as possible. Ideally with an interesting background that might make the pic suitable for a small project I have in mind. I have about 120 pics so far, but of about 60 bikes. Not all are usable for what I have in mind, which is a small picture book developed on a web based publisher program. Personal use only and name and location to be included on the picture.

If you're interested, I know someone who I believe still has one to sell. PM me.

My two girls

Had the silver one since 1990. Toured Europe on & off for three years on it with my wife. Sold it once (mistake) but managed to buy it back.

Sadly I've sold the white one now. Replaced with a GS (see my link).

Yes, Luftmeister Turbo system including water injection, exhausts, etc., etc. Ohlins shocks. It had not been fired up in quite a few years (6+) when I bought it (Craigslist-at a great price). PO indicated he had been told it needed a valve job. Mileage unknown. I changed fluids and did a simple tuneup, fired her up, and rode it a total of maybe 3 miles (Not registered, insured, etc). Seemed to run pretty smoothly and the Lufty exhausts sounded really nice - not overly loud but nice and "throaty". I never got over 3rd gear and never got on the throttle. Rear tire was leaking air from the valve stem so I didn't ride her anymore but put her on the lift to commence some more maintenance work. She's been there ever since since most of my wrenching time was (and is) devoted to my two registered riders (1974 R75/6, 1991 R100GS), my R60/5 restoration project (going on 3 years now) and a 1974 R90/6 project. I know, I've gotten a bit carried away with all these airheads (just ask my wife about it) and needed a Turbo like I need a hole in the head. Some of you out there may understand though.

I don't know much about the bike's history but beleive I'm the 4th owner (2 of the PO's were brothers). The guy I bought it from had owned it about 10 years, used it for his honeymoon vehicle on a tour of the Western US and parked it when his first child came along. The original owner had the Turbo system installed in the late Eighties at a cost that probably was pretty close to the price of the new bike itself ($3500). I don't know if the bike has the Lufty pistons or clutch but suspect that it does. I've got a set of NOS CC Products Cool Cover valve covers that will go on the bike when (and if) I finally get around to giving it the attention that it deserves.

I've thought on occasion about selling it but have no idea as to what would be a reasonable price for an "exotic" machine that may not be everyones "cup of tea." I'd be interested in hearing anyones' opinions on its' value. Regards.

Here's a cut-away picture that I've got framed and located on the garage wall.

And here is my 77RS.
