Kalonji: Let's wait until it warms up a bit, but I can definitely help with the roads in the Beaufort area. I'm available most (but not all) weekends, so when the weather is appropriate, just email me and anyone who wants to join in can come along. We can also scout out Harold's Country Club to see if you guys think it would be a suitable dinner location sometime.

Regards,

Lee...

I'm in the Low Country as well. Always interested in a ride and I have a lot of dirt/sand road's in my gps. Harold's CC is a great place especially the long way via River Road. Good food too!

If your looking for company keep me posted.

Jack

I'll be scouting some roads for the camping trip tomorrow morning.

Lee I should be passing through Ridgeland around 7:30 via 95.

text or call my cell sometime before that otherwise I'll call at a more decent time to get together.

campsite availability

Just a heads up for anybody that was still looking to reserve a site: there are currently 34 site available for Friday night and ZERO available for Sat night. When it gets close to the time of the event and someone still has space on a site for an extra tent and vehicle shoot me a PM.

Another heads up for those that have never been to Hunting island they have a strict two vehicle per campsite policy. Don't ask how I know.

I thought I saw a parking area on the map. I figured extra vehicles could park in those spots. Is that true?

Well, if all else fails we could probably park 4 or 5 bikes in scooterGdawg's tent garage depending on how many bikes he brings. Btw I want the upstaris bedroom by the front, closest to the bathroom.

if you don't know what I'm talking about go camping wit the Gdawg for the Gdawg experience.

I was hoping my wife would be going with us so's I could get her to haul a myriad of things/creature comforts for us to enjoy. It looks as though she will be taking the following week off as her best friend is coming to town.

Less than a month people's.

He has to bring his little tent this time.
We have to fit both of our tents on the site. If he brought the chateau I would have to crash at your site kalonji.

Yes, if you were looking at the parking area down by the fishing pier/nature center about two miles or so from the campground. Yep, thats the overflow parking.

I'll have to check the map again. I thought I saw parking by our spots. Maybe that's for tent campers or something. I'm sure your right but I wonder what I was looking at.

They should count the bikes as 1/2 a vehicle for campsites.

Perhaps we should campaign the SC parks commission

ACE Basin roads can be a bit sandy, as can Bear Island NWP and Donnely Wildlife Preserve...but the scenery is great

I was just doing some trip planning. I may be heading that way to do some scouting pm a phone number if anyone wants to join

So far for the Saturday ride you will need $2.00, plus lunch and gas money, and a permission slip signed by your parents, wife or that person you live with...don't forget to bring your bikey too! There will be good times to be had by all. Maybe a little mud. Definitely some great scenery. Even a little history.

Still looking for a place to eat along the way.....suggestions?

Grocery list

Gdawg,
Let me know what i can supply for the festivities! Me and Stacy will be on the little bikes(DR200,DRZ400) so we cant bring much from Savannah but i can make a run to the grocery store for something needed!!
We wont be joined by Jimmy until sometime Saturday so I have room for one more tent at my site that Friday evening.

Rules for my site:

No snoring!!!(I take care of that)
I get to drink 1/4 of your beer supply!
I dont want to get up at 3:00 a.m and catch you fondling my 200!
No parading around in your fuzzy little zebra patterned banana hanger!!!!!!!
Last of all, do not disturb my tent if you hear strange noises coming from inside!
