Personally, I'm kinda hoping this makes it from the showcar circuit to the dealerships intact:

A 30+ mpg Impreza with 8"+ of ground clearance and maybe, just maybe a sub $20k sticker.

supposedly a 2013 release, but no way it's under 20k with a diesel.

still smoking hot, and would be a great replacement for my outback.

I kind of doubt the diesel will end up over here anyway. But since the new 2.0 supposedly gets 33mpg, who cares?

Heck, I might even consider the CVT just so I can brag about 36mpg. And maybe also so I can stop embarrassing myself with a manual ("Clutch? Isn't that a band?")

I have an old scoobie 2000 2.5RS that I bought new off the showroom floor. Car now has IIRC ~166k miles on it and it is still going strong. It is a fantastic car and if Subaru could make a car that was not so UGLY I would have bought another a year or so ago when I bought the last new car.

I plan on keeping the scoobie for quite a while to come. Not out of the normal repairs....but I am getting rust in the RR quarter now.

Ahhh... the 2.5RS. Somebody at subaru probably got fired over that.

"What the hell, you made a nice looking car? SECURITY!! Escort this man off the premises, he has no place here at Subaru!"

When did Ford buy Subaru?
