A lot of this involves what material husaberg and/or ktm n.a. Has available for us to import.

Please do not hesitate to contact us, if you don't see it. We're more than happy to find anything you need.

1994 Berg

I posted a while back about my 94 FE501 I bought wile deployed. I purchased a stator on the news that the POS said it was very hard to start. The good news is when I went home on R&R I got it running pretty easy, after I figured out that it had a on/off toggle for the ignition. Here's the bad:

Kickstarted bolt sheared

Needs full exhaust system, core is missing from the silencer and pipe is in rough shape

Hard shifting

needs new rear number plates, broken exhaust burned holes in the current set

Valves are a bit too loud for my liking.

Otherwise she ran good, albeit very dirty .. I am looking for some rear number plates and I'll post a message over at the Un-official site. If any of ya'll see a set anywhere let me know. Thanks.

Yay! I'm a Husaberg owner again.
A 2002 FC550 that evidently was converted to FX specs by the dealer. It's electric and kick start. I bought it from the original owner. It needs work. It had broken a valve and mashed the broken piece into the head. It needs some cosmetic help as well.

The infected head.

I found a gentleman parting out an '08 FE550 and bought the entire running engine, ignition parts, carb, carb boot and throttle assembly to swap in.

I'm pretty stoked.

Can I convert an '05 FS 650 E to dirt

I founds this mint bike for sale - was really looking for a factory dual sport, but this is really fun (had a bit of a test ride .
My question is - will it take a 21/18 dirt wheel set (reverse SM conversion)? Reading specs, the only thing I see is about 20 mm difference in travel on the presumably shorter SM shock set up. But I'm completely inexperienced with these bikes.
I'm not a super agressive dirt rider (old and slow), so the reduced travel doesn't worry me too much, but I wouldn't want the wheels to rub.
Here's a pic of the bike.

Thanks for any advice.

Yes, you can convert it. If you are not aggressive you can use your front rotor brake setup. Suspension will be stiff for off road. Depends what you want to ride and how you ride it. I have an 01 enduro that I would like to have a s/m setup for just for giggles.

Thanks for the info.
Can you explain the rotor issue a bit? Is it just smaller than the enduro one?
Thanks

You have a bigger rotor if it is a factory s/m. Not the best for off road as it is more susceptible to damage.

350 parts question

There is a very small chance I might be able to get hold of a 350 engine that needs a new rod and big end bearing.

The rest of the engine is apparently good.

I have been looking for rod kits for it but found nothing for it or the 400 (which I am being led to believe uses the same rod), but to be honest I haven't looked to hard.

Does anyone know where I might be able to get one, or can I use the whole crank from a 501 or something.

Or should I just leave it (it is just the bare engine, no carb or CDI, but it does have the header pipes).

No idea on age, owner thinks its a mid 90s.

If I get it I will just be rebuilding it and then letting it sit around until I can find a frame to fit it in (and the fact that I let an early 2000s rolling chassis go a few months ago because I didn't think I would come across a right side drive engine is slightly annoying)...

tHEtREV-

If anyone would have or know where to get parts for that engine it would be this gentleman. http://www.taffmeisters.co.uk/
