My 550 has the same hours on it and is just as clean
The funny thing is that I'm probably selling it now.... Getting a new Berg for Baja next year, so if anyone wants a super clean 550 for cheap, let me know Oh, a titled 550 Berg

Anybody have a spare kick start lever? I lost mine on a snow ride yesterday and could not find it. Bike runs great but will not start on the magic button.
I think the Starter is junk, it drains the battery really quick and seems to not spin fast enough.

Probably the last desert ride for the season.
But it rained just enough to beat the dust down and not be muddy ![]() ![]() Just put a XPC seat on it and a GPS. I'll probably change the timing chain and cam bearings in the next couple of hours. |

I traded this bike for my current XR250R about 2 or so years ago. Although the trade was the right decision, there's not a week that goes by that I don't miss it. Of all the bike I've loved and lost, I miss this one the most, no question.

WERA976, that's a VERY nice bike! Some say that the 2000 model year was the sweet spot. Too bad you let it go.
I ended up building one from parts from 3 different bikes. '97 or '98 FC 600 engine from Craigslist, 2003 frame from ebay, and suspension and plastics from a 2000 FX 600 that I wrecked in a head-on years ago. Just picked this bike up tonight. Intending on racing Vegas to Reno this year and the local KTM dealer had it sitting there just begging me to take her home. How could I refuse??? ![]() 2008! Zero miles! Zero hours! The only wear was from the guys pushing it in and out of the dealership building for the last year. Before that it was in a crate. They had it marked down to bargain basement. Incidentally, does anyone have the gallon fuel tank that goes under the seat? I can't find them for sale anymore. It also appears that the 4 gallon Clark tank is no longer in production either!

What would it take to make this bike as dirt worthy as my EXC525?

A loose amalgamation of parts.
Frame is a '94 350 I think, Motor is a '96 600. KTM SX forks, KTM wheels. Plastics, seat and tank are '08. Mated an FCR39 carb on, fitted a rekluse, just because I found it real cheap. I have a newer swingarm too, but not the rear shock yet. $40 insurance a year ![]()
